Raven's POV
"It seems like she's getting more comfortable singing in front of people." Freya's Mama says as we sit down at our table in the Six Dogs Saloon here in Denver.
"Honestly I think she just likes singing in public because her wife is here." Cosette says then she, Jaelin, Sophia, Everest, Katana, Mikaela, and Freya's Moms look at me.
"Hi." I say causing the ladies I'm with to chuckle.
"Please welcome to the stage." The Open Mic Night MC says causing everyone to look towards the stage. "The illustrious Freya Nightingale."
"WHEW." Cosette cheers as Freya comes on stage and sits behind the piano on the stage.
Tonight is the monthly open mic night at Freya's Bar and for the first time in a long time Freya wanted to come sing some of her songs so that's what we're here to watch.
"Hi everyone." Freya says with a smile. "Uh this first song is called The Ancient Art Of Always Fucking Up so it's pretty self explanatory for what it's about."
After my gorgeous wife speaks she starts playing the piano then she starts singing.
If all mistakes were made in stone
I'd build a wall so tall you'd see for miles
And every man and child would come to see
Stand and laugh at me
Like you would not believe
And I can't blame 'em
It's kind of funny when you start to think about the kind of fool who breaks her heart as often as the moon, shows its face to you
And I regret to say politely I'm the girl who'll more than likely lose like I always doSo tell me are you running scared
Cause you know that I'm beyond repair
Oh baby I'm a master of the ancient art of always fucking up
Everything I've ever loved
Cause I wrote the book, the study of the ancient art of always fucking upMay I have your attention please
Step right up and see the most amazing
The absolutely mind inflaming show
About a girl who sold her soul
For a shot at love and gold
And she almost made it, but lost it on the way
The story goes
Now she's the kind of fool who breaks her heart as often as the moon, shows its face to you
And I regret to say politely
I'm the girl who'll more than likely lose like I always doSo tell me are you running scared
Cause you know that I'm beyond repair
Oh baby I'm a master of the ancient art of always fucking up
Everything I've ever loved
It falls from me, like autumn leaves the wake I make it scattered with debris
Of everything that could have been
Cause I wrote the book, the study of the ancient art of always fucking upAnd I'm plagued by design
Forget all my lines
I've burned all my blessings more than half the time
Been trapped in my ways but I'm desperate to change
So let me know if you'll staySo tell me are you running scared
Cause you know that I'm beyond repair
Oh baby I'm a master of the ancient art of always fucking up
Everything I've ever loved
It falls from me, like autumn leaves the wake I make it scattered with debris
Of everything that could have been
Cause I wrote the book, the study of the ancient art of always fucking up"Aww." I say.
"When'd she fuck up last?" Everest questions.
"No clue." I say.
"This next one is called Someone I Could Die For." Freya says then she starts playing the piano and singing.
Another midnight, another bed
I'm not alone, but the loneliness never sleeps
Never leaves, never once
I know a kiss can be hard to measure
But this don't taste nothing like forever
No, it don't, and I won't say it doesOh, I could pretend but I know it won't help
Fooling my, fooling my, fooling myself
Oh no, you knowYou know I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dying
For someone I could die for
Someone I could try for
Fall apart and cry for
Go ahead, risk my life for
Bullet to the brain for
Take away the pain for
You know I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dying
For someone I could die for, mm-mmI'm so damn sick of the one-night thing
Can anyone get my heart racing
Like it could, like it should, like it's love?
Oh, I want the kind made for movie scripts
Tell me, does that shit even exist?
Hopelessly hope and pray that it doesWell, I could say I don't need anyone else
Fooling my, fooling my, fooling myself
Oh no, you knowYou know I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dying
For someone I could die for
Someone I could try for
Fall apart and cry for
Go ahead, risk my life for
Bullet to the heart for
Fade into the dark for
You know I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dying
For someone I could die forOoh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Lying if I said I wasn't dying
For someone I could die for"And don't you people worry." Freya says. "I've definitely found someone I could die for."
"PLEASE DON'T." I shout.
"Don't worry Ravy." Freya says with a smile as she looks at me. "You're not getting rid of me that easily."
"THANK YOU." I shout making a lot of the audience chuckle.
"This next song is called I Love Our Home." Freya says. "I wrote it when I realized the house I'd been living in for five years was finally my home."
I remember that day.
"And I realized it was my home because of my Ravy." Freya says with a smile.
"Aww." A lot of people say then Freya starts playing the piano and singing.
Hands and hearts
Whispered plans
These are the parts
They're not the ends
We're planting our dreams to see what grows
And building walls around the things we know
We're building walls around the things we knowAnd I love our home
We're making flesh and blood from glass and stone
With four strong walls for two warm soulsTears and rain
Flood and droughts
We've had our moments
But never doubts
We're counting the stars
We're never alone
We build these walls around the things we know
We're building wallsAnd I love our home
We're making flesh and blood from glass and stone
With four strong walls for two warm souls
And I love our home
And I love our homeAnd I love our home
We're making flesh and blood from glass and stone
With four strong walls for two warm souls
And I love our home
And I love our home"Someone's getting lucky tonight." Katana whispers.
"Yes she is Katana." I mumble as I eye my wife as she stands up. "Yes she is."
