".... Hey you!."
Mika smiled as Kent saw her playing with her dolls on her bedroom floor.
"Where's my hug?."

"I'm not allowed out of my room... daddy said.." she told him.

"What if I came in." He smiled and stepped inside. Mika ran to him and gave him a hug with a big smile on her face.

"Is Keegan home?."

"He will be in a bit why?.."

"I just wondered." She shrugged. She looked out of her door across the hall to Keegan's room. "Kent... do you like me!."

"Would I hug someone that I didn't like?." He smiled. "Of course I do, you're my sister..."

"But you look different to me..

"And what difference does that make, everyone is different... look at me and Keegan.. we were 20 minutes apart... but I'm sure as hell happy I don't look like him, he hit every branch of the ugly tree on the way down..."
Mika giggled.
"yo daddy and uncle Arlen... they are identical.. but they are also very different..

"Why is my skin not darker like yours or Keegan's?."

"Wow! We are going deep today... okay" he said and sat on the bed next to her. "So, my mom wasn't white.. yo mommy is... so you are half of yo mom and half of Dad... The same as me and Keegan are half of Dad and half of our mom...

"But Christopher, Jayrah, Aimee....

"Let me stop you there.." he looked at her with his eyebrows raised. "You're no different to yo cousins or the rest of the family... look at Mitchel and Valentina... they have lighter skin, straighter hair..." he paused. "Where is this coming from?."

She shook her head. "Nothing, I just guess I wanted to know." She said and went back to her dolls.
Kent watched her for a minute, he knew it was troubling her or something was.
