Levy's P.O.V

"Hurry, hurry! Get your butts to school!" Lady Aquarius shouted, rushing ten girls out the door.

"I-I forgot my bag..." I ran back inside to get my red bag. When I came back outside, I noticed that the boat had driven away."I'll just swim to school," I sighed. After a bit of mindless wandering, I came across what humans called a "ship."

"Wow, I've never seen one this close," I admired, eager to explore. I suddenly heard voices, and scrambled to hide behind a rock. Two male sharks appeared: One with long, black hair caught my eye. I ducked behind the rock and blushed. "I can't let them see me," I thought. I hastily swam away when their backs were turned, my heart still racing as I arrived late to school.

...oOo...

"Levy? What happened? Why were you so late?" Lucy interrogated, panic flushing her cheeks.

"Promise me you won't tell any of the sisters?" I anxiously awaited her response.

"Alright..." she rolled her eyes.

"Sister promise?" I raised a brow, and watched her nod in agreement. "I swear by the sister promise that I, Levy..."

"And that I, Lucy.."

"Will not break the sister bond nor tell any other sister," we both chanted, holding hands and doing a sacred twirl with our tails.

"Alright, now spill it," Lucy demanded. A blush became evident on my face, a cause of remembering the handsome, mysterious shark.

"I got sidetracked on my way to school, and may have ran into a few sharks..." I mumbled and anticipated her gasp. "Don't worry, though! I hid before they could see me." She paused a moment and crossed her arms.

"You know it's forbidden to see a shark! That's why their kingdom is separate from ours."

"I know, but it's not like I wanted to find that ship. Hey, when they're gone, we can go check out the human stuff!" I smiled, and she frowned.

"No, Levy-chan, that is also forbidden," she sighed.

"Ladies, anything you would like to share?" Mr. Eel eyed the both of us.

"No, sir," Lucy quietly answered.

"That's what I thought. Now, pay attention," he gestured to our textbooks.

...oOo...

We journeyed home in pairs of two. Typically, my swim with Lucy would be lively and full of chatter, but today there hung an unusual silence between us. When we finally reached home, I raced to my bedroom to tell pantherfish of my adventures.

"After dinner I'll show you," I placed my bag on the bed.

"Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean it's forbidden, right?" He spoke unsurely.

"Yeah, it is...but it'll be fun to see human stuff," I said reassuringly. He curled into my lap and purred as I petted his soft, black fur.

...oOo...

After dinner, patherfish and I went back to the broken ship and searched for human belongings.

"I'll be over here.." I swam away before he could protest. I suddenly felt a strong hand grasp my arm and turn me. I came eye-to-eye with the handsome shark from the earlier encounter.

"What are you doing here? Get out now," the shark boy hissed.

"...Why should I?" I argued, half-curious and half-angry at his rudeness.

"This is my turf, honey. No little girly mermaids allowed," his red eyes narrowing and growing with impatience. I couldn't help but stare back. The more closely I studied his eyes, the more pain I saw, and something I couldn't quite put my fin on. The intensity in his face lessened by the second. "I-I should go. Meet me here tomorrow. I'd like to show ya something," he mumbled, turning away. Too shy to respond, I immediately swam out of the room, snatched pantherfish, and headed straight for home.
