Mohana felt like she was going to combust in his hold any second. Blood rushed to her cheeks as he called out to her with the endearment. There is no way he just called her that. She surely must have misheard him. Stunned into silence, Mohana could only open and close her mouth soundlessly communicating her astoundment. She could feel every atom of her body light up with excitement as she tensed up.
Rudra's lips curled up in a smirk observing the effect he has on her. He felt pleased knowing he had at least a fraction of effect on her compared to the way she affected him. His grin grew wider as she tried to pull against his hand to release her wrist. He smirked as he released it to give her some hope but as soon as she stepped back, he slid his hand around her waist and pulled her flush against him in one swift motion.
If Mohana was winded before, she was blown away by the hurricane in front of her now. Her breath hitched as she stared into his eyes, their faces mere inches away from each other. Her hands laid flat on his hard, muscular chest acting as the only barrier between them, offering little to no resistance.
"A-ap kya kar rahe hai?Chodiye mujhe "(Wha-what are you doing?Let me go), Mohana whispered, unable to look him straight in his eyes, growing increasingly shy of their positions.
Hating the fact that she was avoiding his gaze, Rudra's other hand gently held her chin as he moved her face towards him, forcing her eyes to be on him.
"Itne dino se ye bahe apko pakadne ke liye taras rahi thi aur ab aa gayi ho to itne jaldi kaise chod de?"(These arms have been dying to hold you for a long time and now that you're here how am I supposed to let you go?), he said in his deep husky voice, tightening his hold.
Mohana felt her knees almost give out and had it not been for his hand holding her up. His tantalizing, deep voice made her weak. She refused to believe her ears which were working perfectly fine. There was no way the handsome man standing in her front of just confessed his desire for someone like her. But then again, she knew no matter how hard she tried to act oblivious of the spark between them, it would not just cease to exist.
She gulped not knowing how to proceed with the newfound information, just staring at him as time seemed to come to a standstill.
Rudra stared down at the ethereal beauty in his arms, entranced by her big black eyes. He couldn't bring himself to believe he was even fortunate enough to be breathing the same air as her nonetheless held her in his arms. His fingers moved the stray pieces of hair splaying across her brown, warm skin. He could hear her breathing become more erratic just like his heart that only seemed to react to the small yet dangerous woman in his arms.
A loud knock on the door seemed to rattle the soul out of her bones as Mohana jumped in surprise.
"Bhrata", Akshat called from the other side of the door.
Snapping out of her trance, horror struck her as Mohana struggled to get out of Rudra's arms. A look of annoyance passed his face upon the interference but he understood the others were probably waiting for him.
"I am afraid we're running short on time but don't you dare for a second think I'm done", Rudra said in a commanding tone.
A shiver trailed down her spine as she heard him speaking, heat pooling her in her stomach, the butterflies going haywire.
"Meet me in the clearing tonight at midnight", He said making sure she heard him correctly.
Mohana refused to answer him knowing there was no way she was going to meet him in the middle of nowhere in the inky black darkness. She didn't trust her body nor her mind to stay sane in his presence and whatever they had between them needed to stop.
