MADELINE
Petra was right and wrong at the same time. I almost found way to the other world. Waking up to the unfamiliar environment, I tried as much as possible to get up from the bed and out of the door, but my feet couldn't let me. I tried one more time to move, still I couldn't. I later took cognizance of my heavily bandaged legs, neck and stomach and gave up.

Shutting my eyes due to the unending dizziness, I was reminded of how I sustained the injuries. I entered the box ring and everyone was forced to place their bets as usual. A few placed their bets on me. It was obvious the bets were fewer on my behalf that day, it's as if they all knew I wasn't going to survive the fight and there was no chance of me winning . The new contender was very fierce in attack and unsympathetic in defense. Seeing her, I concluded I didn't stand a chance to beat her in my sorry state. Either way, I had to fight. It was either I fought bravely and return back to the dungeon or walk painfully to the great beyond.

Still contemplating on what swift attack to make, I was suddenly attacked and thrown to the other side of the box ring. The jeers from the crowd undermined my voice wincing in pain and crying for help. The contender came with another jab but I ducked it immediately. The throwing of jabs and sinking of teeth continued for a while till I was eventually overpowered and bitten deeply into my neck which made me see black dots and nothing else.

The door opened right in front of me and I was greeted with the presence of the pack doctor. I was stunned. Why was the pack doctor treating me?. The pack doctor was only reserved for the leaders and members of the pack. Slaves like us were allowed to die and rot.

"You are going to feel pains for a while and I will try as much as possible to administer you drugs to help alleviate your pains. You need not to worry", the pack doctor said.
With nothing making sense to me, I was compelled to ask the pack doctor, "Why am I being treated. I'm a slave and a fighter from the lowest ranks. There should be some sort of mistake here. I sat up and removed the IV fluid.

Be still!!!
Another deep voice which I recognized as that of Copro the guard resonated the room. He walked up to me and lifted my stiffened jaws forcefully making me feel tingling pains. "From today onwards, you don't own your life anymore. The alpha bestowed mercy to you so your miserable life is no longer yours. You are now bound to Moonshine City Pack, you work for the alpha and the pack now".

"In respect to this, after you recover you are expected to join the team of warrior werewolves of Moonshine City Pack. You have a nice prowess in fighting, so you join the lowest ranks and advance before you can be allowed to train by the alpha's side".
"Understood", he bellowed.
I nodded in return but he wasn't satisfied.
"Can't you respond, he shouted raising his voice in higher octaves".
"Yes, sir Copro", I quickly responded.

"Unless you want to go back to your miserable life in the dungeon, I'm more ready and happy to assist you in your quest. But I promise to make life miserable and solely a living hell that you will so crave death, but you won't see it", he said and left slamming the door right behind us.
Is this good news or bad news?!

AMELIA
it's been a month and two weeks since I saw Mr hazelnut eyes and my life went on as usual. My mother was getting better from her last attack episode and for the past days, I have been seeing less of Troy. I missed his presence from afar and I didn't dare come close. We were better off this way.

For a while, my life seemed so calm and peaceful, making it very strange and instinctively I felt I was been watched. This new found serenity looked something straight from the calm before the storm. Something within me gave me the premonition that something significant was going to happen to me soon, but I chose not to dwell on it.

I finished my shift at the pub past midnight and I packed up to go home to my tiny little apartment, which served as my solace and my home. I looked at my purse and found out I was short of money for taxi and buses don't run at such dark hour. Looking for an alternative, I decided to take the alleyway which was closer and faster to get home.

The alleyway was dark with no people passing. I took it as a cue to increase my steps, making me jog at some point. While walking I could feel I was been followed. For every turning I made, I noticed a shadow followed closely behind me. Fear gripped me and the hairs on my neck stood sending shudders down my spine. I brought out my pepper spray just incase, but it was too late. I was grabbed from the back and put to sleep with a piece of clothing containing sedative.

I opened my eyes to see myself tied to a chair and my mouth gagged, I struggled to break free. The dim light in the room brought to my notice shadowy figures towering above me. Panic set in. What was I going to do?
With my body producing more adrenaline than usual, I gathered courage and looked up and saw pairs of eyes watching me under intense scrutiny like a hawk patiently waiting for it's prey.

A full bucket of cold water was poured directly to my face triggering a reflexive gasp causing a momentary sense of disorientation and heightened awareness. Some laughed while others giggled.

"Well!Well!!Well!!!". With each 'WELL' louder than the last, a man in his thirties clapped loudly and walked towards me. Y'all, meet the daughter of James Brookes. "Amelia Brookes, do you remember me", he asked.

I squinted my eyes to see clearly who he was and the moment I remembered him, I gasped and shouted.
CAIN!!!.
