I would be lying if I said that it didn't feel like my insides were all tightening together by the second of my nerves building up inside of me. I, Megan Mahony, got
accepted into Cambridge University in London. So here I am, studying a variety of subjects which are drama - I love to act, I've acted in only school plays but at least it's a start-, psychology - the human mind has always fascinated me and I would love to work as a psychologist if I get the points, I'd love to help people with their mental problems-, Media Makeup - like all girls I love to spend hours putting makeup on my face to make myself feel beautiful and confident. I don't cake myself everyday with it like most girls, I just go for the natural look. And I am quite good at it I must say-, and lastly, Child Development - I absolutely love children! When I get older I would love to adopt many children and have a big family with me and my wife living somewhere here in the UK.Oh and I forgot to tell you, I'm gay.
Okay I'm not full lesbian, I'm actually Bi but that still means I'm gay. Does anyone know? Nope. I would not tell a living soul on this earth. I don't trust anyone. You know that saying "two can keep a secret if one of them is dead"? Yeah well that's my gay motto. If I tell you I'm just gonna kill you so you won't tell anyone.
I brushed my long brunette hair that was covering my blue eyes, behind my ears and looked up at the tall building beyond me. College.
The nerves were still there and they weren't disappearing at all. Great. I'm just going to have to go in a deal with it.
I'm relieved that my parents didn't make me live in a dorm here because I really couldn't handle living with a bunch of teenagers partying every night whilst I was trying to study or sleep. So I get to go home every night to my nice warm bed. Lovely.
Stepping inside the building, I was hit with a wave of heat, getting out of the cold London air made me sigh in relief as I started to warm up.
I made my way through the packed hallway of college kids to the main reception. A blonde woman with her hair up in a tight bun was sitting behind the high desk.
"Hello and welcome to Cambridge University! How may I assist you?" She greeted me with a tight smile.
"Hi my name is Megan Mahony and this is my first year of college" I told her.
"Oh yes! You're on the list. Okay so here is your locker number and key and your timetable of your classes. You're not staying in any dorms so you don't need that key. And here is your card that you put your money in to buy foods and products here. Enjoy your first semester!" She sang and I walked away thanking her. That was quick.
I made my way to my locker and took my books out of my bag and shoved them into my locker. I checked my timetable, I had an assembly first before we started any classes so they could speak to us about our time here. Nice, a little bit of a doss on the first day.
I closed my locker and put the key in my jeans front pocket. My locker was B42. I need to remember that.
I checked my white iphone5 to see the time '8:54am' , I had six minutes to get to the assembly. I sighed and went to the centre of the entrance to look at the map of the college. It was being held in the gymnasium which was only across the field from here. I tightened my bag straps on my shoulders and made my way to the building.
