Epilogue

Conceiving babies isn't always that easy. Maddie and Rúben tried to come up with the best plan. They waited five more months to start trying and...nothing. Every test came out negative. It got to the point where Maddie did tests without telling him because one of them being disappointed was bad enough.

It was then they had to face a very real fact. Ingrid wasn't Rúben's biological daughter, so they both got fertility tests done and were relieved to find out everything was fine. But still, they couldn't conceive a baby.

The day after Maddie's birthday, they went on a little vacation without their daughter. It was their parents' birthday gift to her. To them. And being able to spend a few days on their own and relax worked its magic.

So when Maddie checked her pregnancy test a month later, she finally got the result she craved so much. Positive.

"What are you doing here? Is Ingrid ok?", Rúben was shocked to see Maddie show up at the training centre. The moment he got out of the door, she started to run towards him. "Maddie?"

"It's positive", she whispered in his ear after jumping into his arms. "It's finally positive".

"What is...", he started to ask but then realized. "You're joking. Don't joke. Maddie?"

But she took out a test from her jacket's pocket and showed it to him.

"Are you happy?"

"Are you kidding me? I've never been happier in my life".

And that was the beginning of pregnancy number two. Their doctor told them Maddie was probably too stressed before and that was why she had so many issues getting pregnant. But that didn't matter anymore. They were about to make their family bigger and that was all they cared about.

When it was time to find out the sex, they debated over what they wanted. Maddie was an only child so she had nothing to base her decision on. Rúben had a brother and he loved that they were both boys but had also grown up hoping for a sister. So what should they hope for...

"It's another girl", said the doctor.

A sister for Ingrid. Another little princess for Rúben to look after. Maybe another mini Maddie, since Ingrid was the spitting image of her mother.

They decided to celebrate the news by taking Ingrid on a trip for her 3rd birthday. Rúben was the younger brother in his family and knew older siblings could get jealous over the attention the new baby got, so they wanted to make Ingrid feel part of the pregnancy from the beginning. To make her care for her sister without worrying about her spot as the house's princess being in danger.

"Disneyland Paris, here we come!!", said Maddie when they got to the park's entrance.

"Ingrid, it's my first time here too. Will you show me the best places to go to?"

Ingrid giggled and then nodded, determined to guide her dad around the place even if she didn't know where anything was. She just kept running around, making Rúben run behind her. Maddie, 6 months pregnant, stayed behind looking at them.

Ingrid quickly found where Elsa was and introduced herself to her.

"Hi, Ingrid. Are these your parents?", asked the princess, pointing at the two adults running to catch their kid. "Or do you need me to find someone who can take you back to them?"

"Yes. That's daddy and that's mummy. She can't move fast because she has a baby in her belly".

"Oh, that's lovely! Are you excited to have a sibling?"

"Yes!!!"

"Sorry", said Rúben when he finally got to where Ingrid was. "Princess, you can't just run around, ok? You can get lost and that'd be scary".
