"People cry sometimes, not because they're weak. It's because they've been strong for too long"

I walked out of Nathan's room when he had fallen asleep shortly after dinner. I had too many questions swirling around in my head and no answers. There was only one person who might have the answers I needed.

"Would you like a cup of coffee?" Micah asked while he washed the dishes. It was a funny sight, seeing how small a regular sized plate looked in his hands.
I went to stand next to him and began drying off the plates.

"I'd love some" I answered him and he gave me one of his signature smiles. Standing right next to him I could see the small cuts and scratches on his face. I still couldn't get it out of my head, he shot a man between the eyes without any hesitation, he didn't even bother to look back! I couldn't help but wonder how one can kill so easily and act as if nothing happened? Though I cannot deny that a part of me was thankful for the lack of his hesitation.
Shaking away the thoughts I focused on the plates but I couldn't help myself when my lips started moving on their own "Who's Lizzie?"

Micah's hands stilled for a long second before he continued scrubbing the plates.

"Did Nathan say something?" He asked, his voice hesitant but soft.

"Anderson mentioned her before and now Nathan mentioned something about her liking me, who is she?" I pressed the question, even though I felt a twinge of guilt for prying into his personal matters but I needed to know. After everything that happened, I need to know.

"Lizzie was Nathan's little sister" he said, his voice heavy and low as if he was revealing a long withheld secret. And that's exactly what it felt like. I had no idea Nathan had a sister. That explains why Micah acted so protective when Anderson mentioned her name.

"Was?" I whisper, not realizing that I have stopped working my hands.

"We lost her almost in a tragic accident, along with his parents" Micah muttered, the pain in his voice was so raw, so real as if he went through the pain of losing everyone he loved alongside Nathan.

"I'm sorry" I whispered and Micah shook his head.

"It's alright, just don't bring her up to him Delilah, he's.... reactive about it" he said and handed me the last plate to dry then headed towards the coffee machine.
I couldn't believe he lost his entire family, including his sister. For the first time I could relate to someone's pain to this extent. But even still I had so many unanswered thoughts and I doubt Micah would tell me anything more tonight so I decided to take matters in my own hands.

"On second thought, I'm gonna have to skip that coffee, I should really get some shut eye" I say and Micah turns to look at me with an arched brow.

"You sure sunshine? I make mighty fine coffee"
