**Translation of title: "i love you"

I waited patiently outside of the locker room with the other wives and girlfriends of the Lightning, all of waiting for our respective men to come out after their crucial division win against the Boston Bruins.

I glanced at my Apple Watch to see the time, which read 10:02 p.m.. I had told Mikhail that I just needed him to take me back to the university campus that really was just down the street from Amalie Arena, then he could go home and do whatever he did after a game, since I had a ton of homework to catch up on. Thankfully I had no classes tomorrow, because this psychology class was kicking me right in the ass at the moment.

"How's college going for you?" asked Brandon Hagel's fiancée Kilena. Speaking of college.

I turned my head ever so slightly to look at her gorgeous, practically symmetrical face. I smiled, then glanced at my watch again before looking back at her. "It's going good. I have a psychology class that's making me question why I majored in psychology, though," I said with a chuckle in the back of my dry throat. It was drier than the Sahara desert down where the locker rooms were—like zero no humidity whatsoever.

She nodded her head with an eye roll to emphasize her agreement to my response. "Ugh, I know how you feel. Especially when you gotta attend your man's games even though you have other shit you could be doing," she said, then Brandon had actually walked out of the locker room. She looked at him, sparkles illuminating her icy, frosty blue eyes, then looked at me. "But I love attending them of course," she continued.

I sighed, then tapped my fingers on the wall next to us. "Yeah, I do too. I'm sure Mikhail would yell at me but he understands why I can't attend as much as he wants me to. Most of the time," I responded with another chuckle as I looked back at Kilena.

She nodded her head again, then Brandon came over by us and wrapped his arm around her back and had his hand rest on her hip.

My face reddened as I looked back towards the locker room, no Mikhail in sight.

"He should be coming out soon. I think he was just finishing up a shower," Brandon said.

I looked back at the couple with smiles on their faces as they looked at each other.

I sighed with a discontent frown. "Okay...," I responded, then slumped into the bench right next to me. To be honest, I was about ready to leave and call my friend to come pick me up. Mikhail would always, always be one of the last guys out if he wasn't the last. Normally I wouldn't care about his slow-as-a-snail undressing and hygienic protocol as such like that, but I had to get back to campus and pull an all-nighter catching up on my psychology homework. Then my trigonometry class.

"See you later, Emi," Kilena said as her and Brandon started to walk towards the exit towards the players' parking lot.

I waved goodbye to her, then once they were out of sight, I slouched even further into the blue bench that signified the Lightning royal blue of their team colors.

Eventually, after another five minutes or so of waiting, Mikhail comes out with his practical boyfriend Andrei Vasilevskiy that he's always around with.

Andrei pointed at me and Mikhail focused his attention to what he was pointing at.

Mikhail's rather neutral and exhausted expression faded to a subtle smile, like he was glad that I actually came to the game tonight despite my overhaul of homework.

I stood up and walked over by the two men, then hugged Mikhail tightly. Andrei just chuckled, but I'm not exactly sure why he's laughing because he's got a wife and a son of his own.Maybe because it's literally his best friend? I wasn't sure.
