Fucking Jack Drury.
Not literally. Although it would be funny if Seth found out that I'd been dating his buddy Jack for about two weeks now. It'd been over-the-phone, but now I was back in Raleigh to one, see Jack, and two, to stab Seth in the back for what he did to me two months ago back here in the bustling capital of North Carolina.
Jack bought me on-the-glass tickets next to the Hurricanes bench for their game tonight against the New York Islanders. A bold move, I'd say, but if I'm wanting to make Seth explode into a million pieces with boiling rage, then it was the perfect plan.
Jack gave me a red Hurricanes jersey with his number for me to wear. Normally I wouldn't wear jerseys to games, but I chose to make this an exception. Oh, I could imagine the reaction Seth will have. I was so ready and so looking forward to it.
After I gone through security and the attendant scanned my tickets, I made my way around the concourse and found the section in the lower bowl of PNC Arena. The memories made in this very arena was second to none, but now they were just faint memories of what I once had.
I had gotten to the arena late because of condensed Raleigh traffic, but I guess it was alright because I got there in plenty of time to see the last ten minutes of warmups before the game started.
After the Star Spangled Banner was sung to the crowd of PNC Arena and the players got situated at their respective benches, Jack was out for the starting line along with Martín Nečas and Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Usually Seth would be on this line, but maybe Rod was changing the lines up a bit as the Islanders were a division rival.
I looked at the bench again before focusing my attention to the hockey game just awaiting puck drop at centre ice. It didn't disappoint, as Seth was looking directly at me with fire in his dark eyes and a look that wasn't for the faint of heart. At least, in his opinion. I honestly could give a fuck if I wanted to.
I smirked, then turned my head to watch the referee drop the puck to begin the hockey game.

The Hurricanes ended up beating the Islanders 4-3 with a win in overtime. It was an exciting game, and it was even more exciting when I got to see Jack score a goal to tie the game up. I'm sure Seth was real happy about that, and I couldn't wait to hear what he had to say about his buddy and I getting into a relationship.
Sure, does it make me feel like a slut to break up with my boyfriend who played for the Hurricanes to immediately go to his friend who also plays for them? Yeah, it does, but what I'm saying is that Seth deserves it after he's been cheating on me with this fake blonde chick who's only famous because her dad drives cars for NASCAR. I know how big of a racing fan Seth is, but I wouldn't think he would cheat on his girlfriend of four years just to get free tickets to watch the Daytona 500 or the Coca-Cola 600. Who would want to watch racing anyway? It's literally cars going around in circles.
While waiting for Jack to come out to escort me to his car and we could start on a movie date night, the doors from the locker room swayed open, nearly hitting the one security guard. I glanced up at my phone, then noticed that it was Seth, still drenched in sweat as he was still in his underclothes from the hockey game. A normal gray workout T-shirt that sprawled "Hurricanes Hockey" across the chest with the main hurricane insignia was a darkened gray and ripped at the neckline. Armpit and hip stains were darker than before.
"So you think this is some sick fucking joke?!" he screamed at me as a vein popped out from the side of his neck. "You think it's a hilarious fucking joke to go after one of my best friends after you break up with me?!"
