Chapter 4 Bruce Returns

7 Years later

Bruce has been missing for 7 years. Nobody has any clue on where he is. The first year I was looking everywhere for him. After that I thought he was dead so I fallen in depression. I still work for Gordon.

At work

"Elizabeth you need to go home it is 6:00." Commissioner Gordon said.

"Sorry if I don't write this down we might not catch the person behind all of the drug dealing." I said continuing my work. "Okay but finish up." Gordon said.

I finish my work but then I notice that I know there location where they are dealing witch is the docks. So I grab my camera, note book, and my taser. Gordon is probably going to be mad but I have to go.

I arrive at the docks. I notice some people in the distance. I run towards a create and hid behind it.

"Shit that guy works for Gordon." I take a picture of him. Then I notice a light goes out.

Then I hear shooting I am about to run off when I see a dark figure fight the thugs. The figure kind of looks like a giant bat.

I notice that three thugs are looking at me in the distance.

I panic I start sprinting towards my car.

I almost get to my car when I feel a strong pare of hands wrap around my waist pulling me to the ground. I pull out my taser out of my purse. "Ohh no she has a taser." One thug said in a sarcastic voice.

I didn't notice that one guy snuck up behind me and he tackled me to the ground. "This one is feisty I like that." One of the thugs said.

I kick him in the a place no man wants to be kicked. He slumps over and grunts. I take this chance to run. But one of the other thugs trip me.

He raises his fist. He is bring down his fist to me. I prepare for the blow when the thugs fist was caught in mid-air.

I look up to see that the bat has taken down those guys in a blink of an eye."What is your name?" I ask the bat.

"Batman." he said then disappeared out of know where.

Next Day

I wake up to see I have a miss call from Rachel and a message saying "Hey call me so we can get dinner somewhere." So I call her

Conversation

"Hey Elizabeth." Rachel says
"Hey Rachel you wanted to make plans?" I asked her

"Ohh yeah would you like to go to dinner tonight and catch up?" She asked

"Yeah sure what time?" I ask "About 8" she said

"Where is it going to be?" I ask "Its a surprise I will text you the address and where something fancy." She said

"K I will see you at 8." I said then hanged up the phone .

Luckily it's a Friday I get off of work early.

I get the text from Rachel that gives me the address to the restaurant.

I look at the time it is 7 I have to be at work at 8 so I get dressed, do my makeup, brush my teeth, brush my hair and put deodorant and perfume on.

When I finish I head to work.

I show up to work right on time. "Hay Elizabeth. Since you finished all of your work yesterday you can just have the day off." Gordon says as I was walking in.

"Cool thanks boss I will see you Monday." I said turning around back to my car.

I needed to buy groceries so I head to the market. I spend an hour getting groceries. I take it to my car and drive home.

For the rest of the day I decided to clean my house. When I finish I notice it is 7 o'clock so I decided to get ready.

I get a real quick shower and dry off my hair. I curl my hair in beach waves. Then I do my makeup. Then I put on the dress and any accessories that match (pic on the side)

By the time I am done it is 7:40 I have just enough time to find the restaurant.

I arrive at the restaurant just in time. When I pull up I notice it is a very fancy restaurant. I pull up to the front and there is a Vally parking. So I hand my keys to the guy.

When I am walking in I see two girls walk past me soaking wet and in bath robes. I walk past them and see a gut I haven't seen in several years.

"Elizabeth is that you?" Bruce said walking up to me. "Wow look at you." He said looking at me up and down.

"Look at you why are you soaking wet?" I ask "I was uhh swimming." He said " Swimming" I confirm. "Elizabeth all of this." He gestures around him. "Isn't me I am much more."he said "Bruce it isn't who we are underneath but it is what we do that defines us." I said walking off disappointed.

I walk in to see Rachel at the table. "You will never guess who I just saw." I said sitting down.

"Who?" She asks "I just saw Bruce soaking wet apparently swimming with some girls. I haven't seen him in years and that is how I see him." I said

So 2 hours later me and Rachel are saying are good buys. I get in my car and head home.
