September 13th 1966, London

Quickly, I grabbed my house keys and I headed out into the crispy autumn day. As I made my way down the busy streets of London, I realised I left my house without my cherry coloured lipstick. I sighed. I tried to brush away my thoughts which told me to go back, as I was already nearly at the café I go to every morning.

Soon as I walked into the small café on the corner, I unbuttoned my coat and untied my grey scarf. I began to walk over to the woman at the counter .

She smiled at me and said, "Hello! What can I get for you ?"

I looked up at the menu above and replied, "Hi! Could I get a medium latte to go, please?"

"Sure! Coming right up," She said to me while walking to the over side of the counter to brew up the latte.

I looked over at all the customers which were inside and I smiled softly. There was a old couple sitting in a corner next to a window and on the other side of the room there was a small family enjoying each others company. The café felt comforting and calm.

Suddenly, I got pulled away from my thoughts as the woman at the counter said, "Ma'am? Your order is ready."

I turned my attention back to her replied, "Sorry, I was in my own day dream there."

"It's fine, don't worry," She laughed, "That would be £2.40, please"

I grabbed my purse out of my bag and counted up the money. I handed the woman at the counter the woman and bid her a good day as I buttoned up my coat and re-tied my scarf to head back out into the cold September's day.

Later, once I was home I got a call from an unknown person. I quickly picked up the phone and began to play with the phone cable as the person began to speak, "Are you Y/n Y/l/n?"

"Yes, I am she."

"Well, I saw that you were looking for a job to earn some extra money? That is correct, isn't it?"

"Yes, that's correct."

He cleared his voice before he began to speak again, "I informed her Royal Highness, Countess Of Snowdon of your need for a job and she said she would like to hire you. However.." He paused for a moment, "You'll need to come into Kensington Palace for a quick interview with her Royal Highness, first."

My whole body felt numb. I couldn't believe it. I was getting offered a job to work for her Royal Highness, Princess Margaret.

"Of course, when should I come?"

"We were thinking tomorrow? If that's alright with you," He spoke.

"Yes, of course. That's fine with me."

"Right, well see you then.." The phone then cut off.

I squealed like a little child on Christmas morning. This was so exciting. I don't even mind if I don't get the job or not just the thought of the offer makes me want to jump up and down. However, getting the job would be amazing too.

I ran to my bedroom and began to pick an appropriate outfit for tomorrows interview with the princess.

About 40 minutes later, I finally decided on an outfit after so many changes and try-on's. I looked over to the clock and I saw that it was 10:38 pm. I thought to myself, 'Maybe, I should get an early night with such an exciting day ahead of me'. So thats what I did. I quickly cleaned up my pigsty of a room and got changed for bed.
