Ace and I had been sneaking around for weeks, and I felt horrible. Rome didn't deserve this, but I couldn't stop. Ace made me feel good, a feeling that Rome couldn't. I didn't know what it was.
When Rome was in town I was ready for him to leave so I could spend time with Ace. Every time we did it, I always said it was my last time and it never was.
My door bell rung making me stand from the couch. Unconsciously a smile spread across my face as I opened the door. "Hey girl!" Ashley greeted me, making my smile drop a tad.
"Damn who were you expecting?" She rolled her eyes heading for the kitchen. "No one...what you doing here?" I questioned.
"I came to check on you, you've been m.i.a for weeks— oh and Trina will be here in a few." She unpacked some groceries.
"What's all this?" I frowned in confusion. "Food. I got you some of your favorite snacks, some to drink, and some frozen foods— you know something easy to cook, cause you can't."
"I'm not depressed if that's why y'all are doing this." I stated. She nodded, "Of course you are, why else would you just disappear like that." She looked at me.
Nobody knew I was fucking around with Ace. And I planned to keep it that way.
My front door opened, it was Trina. "Hey bitches." She entered with bags of her own.
We spoke back. "I guess I'll lock the door now that everyone is here." I said dryly.
"Yeah she's depressed, she's not happy to see me." Trina said making us giggle, "Girl you're so full of yourself." I said.
I sat at the island counter sipping on some wine they bought. "Enough about us though, what you been up to?" Ashley asked turned from the stove for a slight second.
"Uh, nothing really. I've been working and coming up with new ideas for my business, but that's about it." I lied.
"How are you and Rome, you usually find any reason to mention him, but we've been here for an hour and he hasn't come up once." Trina said in a matter of fact tone.
"No we're good, he actually was in town last week." I said.
She gave me a look, "Mhm..."
Before I could respond a knock on my door interrupted us, my heart dropped. I knew it was Ace and it had totally slipped my mind to let him know I had company.
They both looked back, "You gonna answer that?" Ashley raised her brows.
I stood from the stool, "Damn give me time." I went to the door.
Pulling it open I revealed Ace. "Hey, I have company." I tried to subtlety warn him. He'd usually greet me with a kiss, or a hug; so I had to make sure he didn't.
"Oh, I just came to see if you had some cooking oil." He lied. "Uh actually they just bought me some, let me grab it." I walked away leaving the door open.
They knew he lived in my building so hopefully they didn't think too much of him coming to borrow something from me.
I avoided eye contact while I searched for the oil. I could feel them looking at me, but I didn't make eye contact. Grabbing the oil, I went back to the door. "Here, don't forget to bring it back." I smiled.
"Bet." He walked away.
I shut the door and went back to my seat, "Well now I know why your smile dropped when you opened the door and seen it was me." Ashley said making Trina shake her head. "Tell me it's not true." Trina said.
"First off no, my smile didn't drop you were just looking for a reason to say I'm depressed." I argued. She laughed, "Trina don't listen to this bitch, she was expecting someone else! I'm telling you what I know." She was hype.
"I believe you, because she did look like she was glowing different. And if Rome was here last week why does the glow look so new, like something from last night?" Trina looked over me.
I nearly shrunk in my seat as they started putting the pieces together. "So a friend can't borrow something from another friend?" I tried to recover.
The shook their heads, "You're caught sweetie, you might as well spill." Trina smirked.
I stayed quiet for a second.
They weren't buying the lies I was trying to sell, might as well tell the truth.
"I'm fucking Ace— y'all happy now?" I rolled my eyes.
"It was only a matter of time." Trina said like she just knew. "You did say it, I definitely didn't think so." Ashley said.
"I'm going to stop though, I love Rome, and he's a great guy. I'm just having a little fun." I said.
Trina scoffed, "Amelia really, that's like you saying you're done drinking, everybody knows that's a lie."
Ashley agreed. "Rome is a great guy, but maybe not the guy for you. If you can cheat it's not meant to be."
"I don't agree." I shrugged.
We talked about it while eating and I came to the conclusion that it was my last time, for real. I didn't want Rome to find out, it would crush him to know I was unfaithful.
After to a few hours of chilling with my girls they finally left.
"Okay, I'll see y'all later. Text me and let me know y'all made it." I said watching them walk to the elevator.
Once they were in I went back into my place and texted Ace to let him know they were gone.
It wasn't long before he came up. "I brought your oil back." He chuckled leaning in and kissing me. His lips felt so good against mine, but I still had to cut things off between us.
"Ace we have to talk." I stated seriously.
He sighed, "This can't continue I love my boyfriend and blah blah blah." He mimicked my voice.
I slapped his arm, "I'm serious."
"Why won't you leave him? You know you're still in love with me and I'm still in love with you." He said.
"Because..." I really didn't know why. Maybe it's because I was scared it wouldn't work.
"Because what? You think we won't work? Because if that's what you're scared of you worried about the wrong thing. I want you Amelia, I would never break your heart." He said making me melt inside.
I hated when he did that. He knew exactly what to say. "You're mine. And I'll have you no matter how long you take to come around." He stared into my eyes making me look away.
"You always do that." I pushed him away. "Do what." He smirked walking towards me.
He gently wrapped his hand around my neck and pulled me into a kiss.
Everything happened so fast, one moment I was telling him I'm done and the next he had me in bed begging him not to stop.
"Whose pussy is it ?" He whispered in my ear while he stroked. I gripped his back, "Yours baby."
He started to pump faster, "Just like that." I panted. "I-I'm about to cum." I managed to say.
"Wait on me baby." He said making it harder to hold back. "I can't!"
I got up and went to the bathroom to get a towel. I ran hot water on it and cleaned myself with it. "I think that's the best sex we've had." He said from the room. "You say that every time." I said.
Washing the towel off, I headed to the room to clean him up. "That's right, clean daddy's dick." He said making me stop, "Ace stop playing with me."
He chuckled, "I'm just playing with you beautiful, stop getting mad so fast." He had his hands behind his head watching me.
Everything he did just made me want him even more. He had me really considering leaving Rome.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do just yet, but I wasn't ready to let go of Ace ....
