Episode 4-Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

Freya knocks on Hope and Faith's door.

Hope opens the door and Faith is on her bed and sits up.

"W-What happened?" Hope asked worriedly.

"Uh, oh, nothing. Uh, no, your... your father has search parties scouring every inch of the city. We'll find her." Freya said

"I just... When I saw you, I thought she... yeah." Hope said

Faith stands next to Hope and says. "So, wait, if she's still missing, then why are you here?"

Freya holds up the paper bag and says. "Care package. Thought you girls could use a taste of home."

"So you drove all this way to bring us beignets?" Hope said

"You know, I figured with everything going on, you could use a friend." Freya said

Hope and Faith look at each other.

"Thanks." Faith said

"But we're really fine." Hope said

Freya looks in the room.

"Mm-hmm. You know, I could be wrong, but, um, I think this is the part where you invite me in." Freya said

"Yeah. Yeah." Hope said

"Yeah." Faith said

Hope opens the door to let Freya in. Once inside, she sees spell ingredients and grimoires on the floor. Faith helps Hope pick them up.

"Locator spell in ancient languages? Thought you weren't allowed to do magic outside of the classroom." Freya said as she looks at Hope and Faith.

"Catch-up reading. We're trying to make up for being suspended." Hope said

"Mm-hmm." Freya said

Hope and Faith stood up with the books in their hands. They set them on Faith's dresser.

"Keep our grades up." Hope said

Faith turns to look at Freya and says. "We got to get back to work, Aunt Freya."

"Sure. Sure, I mean, I could just leave after an excruciating 11-hour drive to see my twin nieces. Or... we could get comfy, stuff our faces with deep-fried glory, [She turns to Hope] and Hope you could tell me about that cute boy you had hidden in your room last week." Freya said

Faith laughs as Hope blushes.

Hope, Faith and Freya are walking pass the field.

"So, which one is he?" Freya asked

"The hot one that sweats diamond dust." Hope said

Students are playing a game of shirts and skins soccer. A witch student uses his telekinesis to hold the ball in midair, though Roman head butts it into the goal.

They see Roman, shirtless, wave hi to Hope. She's embarrassed and doesn't wave back.

"Oh God. Keep-keep walking." Hope said

"Wait, you're not gonna wave back?" Freya asked

"No, pretty sure, uh." Hope said

"His ego can handle it." Faith said

Freya chuckles.

"Hey, so... that stuff you girls were studying earlier. Alchemy of the Iberian Peninsula? Magic of the Middle East?" Freya said

"We're examining regional magic as it relates to sociopolitical and economic statuses." Hope said

"So, what exactly are the sociopolitical implications of breaking powerful cloaking spells?" Freya asked
