Night Five
This wasn't right. Something about this was not right.
You didn't know what it was. But the darkness was not comfortable. It was like an awkward hug with someone you didn't like, but it was suffocating. You could still breathe, you could still feel your body to some degree, but it did not feel familiar.
Then you understood. The reason it didn't feel right. You were cold. Normally you knew this wouldn't be an issue because of the environment, but if who you swore was Keegan that walked in front of you, he would've at least made sure you were warm and not freezing. Or maybe he didn't come at all. But the tightness you felt on your wrists and ankles said that you were in a different place. But not camp. You had to wake up.
Wake up.
Wake up.
WAKE UP.
Your head jolted up with a gasp, eyes wide with panic as you looked around. Walls. Concrete, and barren. The first instinct was to get up, you knew you weren't safe here. But the binds on your wrists behind you and ankles kept you to the chair. Looking down at your torso, you didn't see any blood over you nor feel any pain so you weren't dying. Your next instinct after that was to shout.
"Keegan!"
Your voice was still hoarse from calling him earlier, mixed with the tear gas that you inhaled. But that didn't matter, you went to call him again. Your throat couldn't do it, however, making you cough. It seemed to alert someone behind you though finally.
"Jesus dude, could you not right in my ear?"
"Keegan?" You asked, turning your head as far as it would go to see the back of his masked head. "How did you end up here too?"
"Same as you, jackwagon," He started, voice husky too, clearly not happy with the situation. "Somebody wanted to shoot the gas truck and make everyone in a five mile radius cough their lungs out before falling unconscious"
Your head spun forward to look at the wall ahead of you. Great. Just what you needed right now.
"You didn't have any better plans, dick. You were in a lot of pain and could barely stand on your own, someone had to step up."
Your voice grew bitter, hands turning into loose fists as you tried to hold in your anger. Keegan didn't have any shame in showing his.
"Step up?? You almost got us fuckin' killed! That much gas could've been lethal. You could've at least said what you planned on doing before acting upon it. Might've saved us getting held hostage right now."
You sighed heavily in your rising rage, shaking your head as you too raised your voice.
"If we even tried to move from that spot, we would've gotten shot. We don't exactly have the materials to fix any more bullet wounds, remember? Someone said that we wouldn't need all the extra equipment. So thanks for the save, asshole."
"You son of a-"
The metal door to the room suddenly swung wide open, slamming into the wall and causing the both of you to swing your heads to the side to look. And in walked a man, tall and dressed in basic military gear. He wore a standard cap of the same camo, very little gray hair poking out from underneath. The badge on his vest made it immediately clear who they were about to speak with.
The Captain.
"Entonces, ¿estas son las ratas que han estado matando a mis hombres y acechándonos?"
(So, these are the rats that have been killing my men, and stalking us?)
