♡George pov♡
Clay laid his head in my lap.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled.
The tears finally fell down my face, hitting the concrete and my legs.
"I should be the one saying sorry. This is all my fault. I'm so sorry for doing this to you, Clay." I apologized, running my fingers through his hair.
His hand opened, and I intertwined our fingers.
"You finally came to terms with your feelings. We might not get to live it." He said softly.
I brushed more hair out of his face.
"Please don't say that. I can hear the sirens. They're coming for you. You can't die. Not like this. Not because of what I did to you." I said.
"I want to stay now." He mumbled, lightly squeezing my hand.
He kissed the back of my hand gently.
"I actually have something to stay for now. I didn't before." He told me.
More tears ran down my face. He kissed my hand again.
"I don't like seeing you cry." He mumbled.
"I can't help it." I replied.
"I know you can't." He said.
He looks so peaceful. He doesn't seem panicked at all. He said he doesn't want to go, but he's prepared to.
"This whole situation between us wasn't just the only thing that pushed me." He said suddenly.
"What else?" I asked.
"I remembered some things I didn't want to remember. Bad things that happened to me when I was younger." He told me.
"I want to hear about it. I want you to tell me what's been bothering you." I said.
I felt his grip on my hand get looser. His eyes fluttered a bit.
"No, no. Clay. Please." I mumbled.
His eyes began to shut, but it was obvious he was trying to force them to stay open.
"Oh god. Please. Don't leave me." I begged.
The ambulance pulled into the parking lot, and paramedics quickly ran over as his eyes shut. I heard a car screech and a car door slam, but I couldn't focus on that. Clay was pulled from my arms, and my vision blurred with tears. I covered my face with my hands as a sob escaped my throat.
"George!"
I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder. Then another.
"I told him I loved him." I sobbed quietly.
I was pulled into someone's lap, and I clung onto them, sobbing into their shoulder.
"George, everything's alright. I'm so proud of you. He's gonna be okay. You kept him talking and awake."
Karl. It's Karl.
"Can we go to the hospital, please? We need to go." I said.
"The ambulance hasn't left yet. I'll get you in." I heard Sapnap say.
I got out of Karl's lap. Sapnap grabbed my arm and pulled me up. We quickly went over to the ambulance.
"Can he go in? They're dating." Sap stated.
The paramedic allowed me to climb into the ambulance. They shut the door, and the ambulance began to drive. Clay had some kind of breathing mask over his face.
