I open my eyes as brightness stung my eyes making me shut them completely again
"Why does my bed have to be next to a big ass window?" I yawn and stretch my arms in the air and get up
'I wonder how Mao is feeling after yesterdays event'
I brush my hair taking out the knots as I hiss from some of the pain
[If u wear a hijab]
I walk towards where I see my f/c hijab and start putting it on for the day
[if your bald and after putting ur hijab or brush ur hair :^]
I get up and start getting dressed in my Ladies-in-waiting fit
I go to the door and open it seeing Maomao standing there
"Goodmorning Mao." I greeted her as we walked straight ahead to the Jade Pavilion
As we walked up the stairs and into the room where Lady Gyokuyou was we bowed our upper bodies like usual
"Oh? You two could've taken a day off after yesterdays event." Lady Gyokuyiu frowns
"We cannot allow ourselves to do so. Please put us to work."-Maomao
But something else caught Lady Gyokuyou's attention
"Oh. Your freckles." Lady Gyokuyou was surprised
"Oh. She's uncomfortable without them for some reason. Could she keep them on?"- Me
"I understand everyone kept demanding who the Ladies-in-waiting were"- Lady Gyokuyou
'Do we really look different with make-up?'
"Our apologies."- Me
"It's fine. Anyway, Gaoshun came by this morning and hasn't left. What do you want to do?"- Lady Gyokuyou
"Eh?"- Me
"He seemed bored, so I asked him to pull up some weeds."- Lady Gyokuyou
'Weeds....'
"May we use the Parlor?"- Maomao
"Sure. Hongniang."- Lady Gyokuyou
(Ok so it didnt say why she left so 1 min time skip)
Hongniang left with a smile plastered on her face with rosy cheeks
Me and Maomao went to the room Gaoshun is in which is basically where me and Maomao go to test if Lady Gyokuyou's food is poisoned or not
We take a seat as Gaoshun placed a silvered bowl with soup in it.
"This was the soup Lady Gyouyou was suposed to drink, right?"- Me
"Yes."- Gaoshun
"How kind of him."- Maomao
...
"Please don't eat/drink it."- Gaoshun
"Of course not." I swayed my right hand left and right making a face like this -3-
He just gave me a stare making me glare
"Anyways back to the subject. Silver corrodes quickly. This is oxidized and no longer tasty."- Me
"Tasty..."- Gaoshun
"DId you pick this up with your bare hands, Gaoshun?" I asked
"No, i didn't touch the bowl."- Gaoshun
"Oh?"- Me
"After that I quickly wrapped it up in a cloth."- Gaoshun
"One moment please." Maomao got up and went to get supplies leaving me and Gaoshun alone in silence
...
'this is awkward'
"Master Jinshi talks about you sometimes."- Gaoshun
"So?" I rested my chin on my hand
Just then Maomao came in
"That was quick." I say as She put the items down on the table
"Powder, Cotton and a brush?"- Gaoshun
"Yes."- Maomao
"What will you do with these?" Gaoshun asked
"Just watch." I grab chopsticks and grabbed the cotton with them dipping it in the powder and brushing it against the silvered bowl, then wip the powder off exsposing the finger prints
"There."- Me
"There's some white marks." I turn to look at Gaoshun
"No duh." I look back at the bowl as he gave me a poker face
"It's more visible on silvered items, which is easily corroded."- Me
"And that's why you should wipe silver items before use."- Maomao
"In other words, the finger marks remaining here, were from the people who touched it after the bowl was cleaned?"- Gaoshun
I nodded
"The size and placement of the finger marks allows us to guess who held this, the bowl was held...."- Me
Mine and Maomao's eyes widen in surprise
"What is it?"- Gaoshun
"Nothing.."- Maomao
Me and Maomao get up
"I think it was held by four peopleheld the bowl."- Me
"Four people?" Gaoshun tilted his head
I nodded
"first three people who touched the side of the bowl. The one who carried it, the one who poured the soup and Lady Lishu's taster. But there's one more."- Maomao
"An outsider that touched the rim of the bowl. I believe this unknown person poisoned the food."- Me
"If thats true, why is the taster's finger mark on a high-rank concubine's bowl?"- Gaoshun
"That's simple. Lady Lishu's taster swapped it on purpose as a form of harrassment, not knowing it was poisoned."-Maomao
"Swapped it?"- Gaoshun
"...It's bullying."- Maomao
"A Lady-in-waiting is bullying a high-rank concubine?"- Gaoshun
"Sounds like you don't believe it."- Me
"Can you explain?"Gaoshun sweat dropped and asked us to explain
"Let me first say that this is all just conjecture on our part." Maomao looked up at him
"That's fine." He reasured us
"Well do yu remember Lady Lishu's dress during the Garden party?" I asked
"Yes. I believe is was a flashy pink colour."- Gaoshun
"Normally you'd think that if a concubine picked a colour that would clash with Lady Gyokuyou's dress, her ladies-in-waiting would recommend another one or atleast,they'd wear something that matches it themselves ."- Me
"However, all of her were wearing white. That makes Lady Lishu appear like a buffoon who can't read the room. Ladies-in-waiting would allow their mistress to shine. Come to think of it, that day. . ."- Maomao

I just let Maomao explain the rest since I'm lazy to say anything right now
(i'm too fucking lazy to write this part :'))
TIME SKIP:
We walked out of the room and down the stairs as Gaoshun left the Jade Pavilion
