After Gaoshun left we went to the living room and sat down on the couch
"Well, we should be thankful, since she did go out of her way to make the swap."- Maomao
"We were able to taste the poison thanks to her!"- Me
"We really should have swallowed that soup." Maomao looked up at the ceilig
Jinshi's POV:
(its night at this time and in his office)
"That is all." Gaoshun
"I see. You always impress me with how you word things." I had my chin resting on my hand
"Is that so?"- Gaoshun
"This is clearly an inside job, right?" I laid my head on my desk
"The situation indicates as much, yes." Gaoshun said still standing infront of the desk
"You make it sound so simple. I haven't had time to sleep, because of this. I havrn't been able to change my clothes
I want to stop thinking." I complained
"Your natural self is showing." Gaoshun pointed out the obvious
"Who cares? There's nobody here." I closed my eyes
"I am here."- Gaoshun
"Can you cut me some slack?" - Me (Jinshi)
"No." Gaoshun straight up said
"Nothing I say will move you, huh?" I turned my head to the side
"We've had a long relationship." (NOT IN A COUPLE WAY T-T) - Gaoshun
"It's not easy having someone look after you since you were born."- Me
"Master Jinshi you forgot to remove your hairpin." Gaoshun told me as I forgot to take it out earlier
"Oh, oops I totally forgot." I place my hand on my hair pin and pull it out
"It was hidden in your hair. I don't think anyone noticed your true status."- Gaoshun
"Take care of it for me." I place it down a bit rough
"You're treating it roughly again. It's something only special individuals can wear so please take care of it." Gaoshun grabbed my hair pin carefully
"I know."- Me
"You don't. Excuse me." Gaoshun walked to the door and left
I sighed as he left and brang my head up
"Let's do this."
Y/n POV:
Yet another day in this stupid palace thingy
"Oh right, did you guys get any hairpins?" Maomao friend asked (UHM SO I FOUND OUT THAT MAOMAO AND READER DON'T CLEAN NOW ;-;)
We were sitting as Maomao gave some food she didn't want to the brunette girl
"A few."- Me
Maomao's best friend eyes lighted up
"I see! SO now. You two can get out of the rear palace!"- Maomao bestfriend
"EH!?!?"- Me
"Huh? what did you say?"- Maomao
"You can get out of the rear palace."- bestfriend
"MORE DETAILS!" I grabbed her right hand with both my two hands and squeezed it as my eyes lighted up in excitement
"You can't meet men from the outside while at the rear palace. But if you get special permission, a man can escort a female worker outside." She explained as I let her go
