Chapter 7 - The Right Arm

"I was worried they'd kill you after what you did."

Jorge parks the car and you lean up from Frypan laps before everyone exits the car.

Blocking the road is a bunch of old cars.

"Well, i guess we're on foot." Jorge says.

You walk through the cars, glancing around. Craws cawing in the distance.

It's quiet. Then suddenly gunfire.

"Get down!" Jorge exclaims.

You and Aris, who you had stood close to and take cover behind a car.

The gunfire cease.

"Hey, is everyone okay out there?" Thomas shouts.

"We're fine!" Teresa shouts to him from beside you.

"Newt, Fry, Minho!" You shout to get a confirmation.

"Here!" All three shouts one after the other in confirmation and you sigh in relief.

"Anyone know where those bloody shots came from?" Newt shouts in question.

"That son of a bitch, Marcus. He led us into an ambush." Jorge says to Thomas beside him. He dig for something in his bag while Thomas peaks over the car. A gun fires at him and he ducks down behind the car again.

"What do we do?" Thomas asks him.

"Hold this." He gives Thomas a bomb.

"We gotta create a diversion. Get ready to chuck it." He says holding up the trigger. "Everybody! Get set to sprint back to the truck."

Thomas is about to throw it when a gun cocks behind them making them freeze.

"Drop it." A voice says, they slowly turn to see two girls their guns aiming at them. "Now! I said drop it! On your feet. Let's go." They stand up. "Let's go. Move!"

They make them walk backwards toward you.

"You three, over here now!" He calls out for Minho, Frypan and Newt.

The girl then glance at Aris and frown in confusion.

"Aris?" She asks, and you all turn to him. The girl takes off the cloth covering half her face.

"Oh my god, Harriet?"

"My god. What the hell are you doing here?" She asks enveloping him in a hug.

"Sonya." He says and then the other girl hugs him in relief too.

"Aris, you're lucky we didn't shoot your dumb ass. You alright, man?" Sonya ask him.

"Uh.. What's happening?" Frypan then asks.

"We were in the Maze together." Aris says.

Then Harriet whistles loudly.

"We're clear, guys! Come on out!"

"Coy that! We're clear! Stand down!" Someone yells in the distance.

"My god, you're alive." Sonya grabs Aris face in relief.

You raise an eyebrow and look at Jorge who also saw the exchange, you share a look.

...

"Back it up, Joe!" Sonya shouts and a car gets moved while you walk through the tunnel.

"We're taking them to base." Harriet informs the guys around.

"Wait, so, how did you guys get here?" Aris asks them.
