A monstrous yawn rolled over me. Unfurling my toes, shooting up my legs, tickling my stomach, rumbling through my chest, and busting out my mouth. I stretched against the blanket and buried my face in the pillow. Larry's scent was everywhere, but it was to be expected. It was his bed after all. Propping myself up on my elbows, I scanned the room. It was too big for him. A little nerd like Larry would be better off rooming with one of the other cohorts. If anyone in Buckler deserved her own space, it was me.

I'd dropped hints and outright offered him a trade, but he'd refused to switch rooms. After what happened in Queens, I'd given him a break, but we were two months into our second marking period and It was time to play hardball. Larry Plopper might have been a little wizard in-training, but buried under the glasses and the books was a boy, and I knew exactly how to get what I wanted from boys. Plus side was, Larry wasn't some horndog or one of those guys who were girl-crazy. It meant I only needed to give him a little nudge. He wouldn't expect much and I had very little intention of giving him much. A wink, a shimmy, a purr, and the room would be mine.

I heard him shout something to my little green friend from the top of the steps and knew it was time. Pulling my t-shirt over my head, I tossed it across the room and laid seductively back against his bedding. Dressed in nothing but a pair of volleyball shorts I'd stolen from Perdy, I was about to blow Larry Plopper's mind. I ruffled my hair as his footsteps approached. I had the forethought to take a shower beforehand, but I decided against the baby oil because I didn't want to ruin his blanket or my future bed.

When the door opened, I struck a pose like they used to do in the old Playboy magazines the dirty old men used to buy when I was a kid.

Larry walked in, nose buried in a geography textbook. He didn't even notice me. Just swung the door closed with his foot. He crossed the room and threw his backpack on the chair by the window, nearly missing in his distraction. Mumbling something about the difference between Barbuda and Barbados, he sat on the edge of the bed and kicked off his shoes. I shifted so I was no longer facing the door but facing him, and he just kept reading. When he turned the page, I arched my back a bit to give him a good look at my tits, but he didn't even glance up.

I suddenly felt stupid, sitting there like some useless eye candy in a James Bond movie. I wasn't some doll, I was the secret agent fem fatale.

Rolling my eyes, I reached over and walked my fingers up his arm.

"Are you really going to ignore me, Mr. Larry," I purred.

"I ignore you as much as possible, Toni. You're mean and it's the only way to get you to lose interest and leave me alone." He said it without looking up. "A leyline runs through both islands, connecting them through both the Wind and Water Arcana."

He wasn't even paying me any mind.

"Larry!" I snapped.

"What, I'm studying?"

He turned to face me and, for a frozen moment, his blue eyes swept over my body. They bulged so big, I thought they might knock off his glasses. He jumped off the bed, trying to juggle his book while stumbling as far back from me as his legs would allow.

"Toni, what are you doing in my room?" he asked entirely too loud. His book hit the ground as he fumbled with his pockets. "Where are your clothes?"

"Over there, silly." I smirked and pointed to my shirt.

"Why are you naked? You shouldn't be in my bed. Your breasts– where I sleep– clothes–"

The shadows rushed across the room from every corner, splashing into Larry with a sound like a sinister whisper. Then he vanished.
