On my trip back to Shield House, I stuck to the bushes and shadows. It seemed to me that as it got darker the hunter's patrols grew more vigilant. The scaredy cats were probably afraid of the dark. I couldn't blame them. A lot of what McBrennan and Nena spoke about left me cold and nervous inside. I didn't fully understand what was happening, but whatever it was had The Organization terrified. Frightened monster slayers were enough to sober even a carefree soul like me.
I stopped across the road from the dorm and watched one of the sentries walk by on patrol. As soon as they disappeared around the corner, I trotted out of my hiding place and was met by a mangy mutt and a sinewy snake.
"This way."
I gestured with my head and led them around to the side of the building where my window sat. I searched for something I could use to grab Di and Lyric's attention, but they were already there. They lowered down a rope made of our sheets. I stripped off my cat form and grabbed one end of the rope.
"Hurry, we only have a few minutes until the sentry comes back."
Duncan donned his human form, snatched up Sextenia and started climbing. He just reached the top when I heard the guard coming. Not wanting to get caught halfway up with my ass in the air, I dove into the bushes. The rope vanished through the window as his light began to sweep the area. I held my breath, willing my limbs not to move. My bobcat form was far smaller and harder to see, but shifting would have shaken the bushes and given me away.
I waited, expecting to get caught at any moment as I heard his footsteps cut through the grass.
"Hey," Duncan shouted.
When the hunter looked up, he got a full view of the moon shining down Duncan's hairy ass crack. The man shouted in angry disgust and I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing. Cursing the man continued on his patrol, his light passed inches above my head, but he was too distracted to notice me. Once he was gone, they lowered the rope and pulled me up.
"Not bad, for a canine?" I said as I closed the window.
"I get no complaints," he replied, waggling his cock in my direction.
I rolled my eyes and pointed at Di. "She might like fleas, but Lyric and I are ladies. Put that thing away."
He looked at my tits with barefaced sarcasm, then snatched the sheet off of my bed and wrapped it around himself.
"Now I have to burn that," I grumbled.
He stuck his tongue out at me then walked over and gave Di a hug. Someone had been gracious enough to leave my clothes at the foot of my bed, so I started to dress while the two lovebirds played kissy face.
"What now?" asked a voice I'd never heard before.
I turned around and was dumbstruck. She was all long legs with an hourglass shape. Somehow she was thin and curvy in the same breath. Her red hair hung to her shoulders on either side with thick bangs that covered her eyes when she moved her head a certain way. Her eyes were slit like a serpent's and small scales peppered her cheeks like freckles. A forked tongue looked weird yet exotic. She must have stayed too long in her animal form because it was starting to show through her human skin. Other animus called it 'going feral'.
I'd never seen her human skin, but I immediately understood why most people called Sextenia 'Sexy' for short. She took my breath away.
"Ummm... who are you?" Lyric asked before I could find the words.
She did an honest to god hairflip. "Sextenia, my room is down the hall."
"Oh..." We all just stared at her.
