Chapter Thirteen:

White Harbor - 299 AC

Visenya Targaryen hadn't stepped foot on her homeland in sixteen years, so as she departed from her ship, she cried. No one judged her as they knew it was a big moment for her. Lord Manderly had greeted them and was surprised by the group of men accompanying the Queen. Most of them, men from legend and brought to life in flesh. He had greeted them and allowed Visenya and her main party to rest in his keep as her army prepared a camp outside the gates surrounding the city. The biggest surprise had come when sixteen dragons had flown over their northern skies, something not seen since Good Queen Alysanne. Three were so large they blocked out the sun as they flew over top and the other thirteen, the size of horses, following, looking like a bunch of baby ducklings.

Visenya had sent them to hunt in the surrounding forests before they retired for the night as a storm had broken out two days before they reached the harbor and had raged until a few hours before they arrived in the North. Visenya had been busy getting her soldiers ready. Eight thousand of her men were bundled up in furs and were to depart for The Wall the next morning, under the leadership of Kha, one of the unsullied Greyworm had chosen with letters for the Lord Commander of the Nights Watch. The dothraki and Unsullied had never been so far north, so it was taking a little time for them to adjust to the change, even as many were cloaked in warm furs. Many slept fitfully that night as they were about to embark of the adventure of a lifetime and Visenya spent her night fretting on how her soldier were fare in the far north, while worrying about her coming meeting with Robb Stark.

By the time morning came, Visenya had gotten no sleep even as their encampment was a beehive of activity. Men getting their stuff together, wagons being packed with supplies, weapons being passed around, horses being saddled, and carriages being readied to carry the women in their group. Lady Missandei and Princess Daenerys were in Daeny's rooms getting ready for their departure, knowing they need to be warm as the weather in Westeros was very different from the weather in Essos. Drogon was flying outside the window, sensing Daenerys emotions through to bond and staying close.

Missandei had just finished twisting Daeny's hair into travel braid when there was a knock on the door, which opened to admit Irri and Jhiqui carrying a fur lined travel cloak. It would take seven days to reach Riverrun from White Harbor by horse and Visenya and Jacaerys had decided against going through the Twin and instead decided to take the Kings Road all the way down to Riverrun as the army was just too large to go any other way. Visenya had made arrangement for them to stop a few hours ride from Riverrun and set camp in order for everyone to freshen up as now one wanted to greet the King in the North, travel weary and covered in dust. For the time being, Daenerys wore a pair of warm wool stockings, a think black gown and the fur lined travel cloak to keep warm. Without hesitating she put said cloak on and the four girls left the room, faces serious as they followed the flow of people down towards the Great Hall and the rest of the Targaryen party.

Across the hall from Daenerys, Jacaerys and Roslin were getting ready. They had been married while on Dragonstone and he still lost his breath every time he saw her since then. To him there hadn't been a more beautiful bride. Roslin had relaxed about the bedding after Visenya had spoken to her about it and what she could expect. Jace had also offered to wait till she was ready, but Roslin wanted her wedding night to be their wedding night. They had been happily lost in each other ever since.

Now Roslin was dressed in a gown like Daeny's, hair braided back from her face and fur cloak hanging from her shoulders in a fountain of grey wool and black fur. A simple diamond tiara sat on her brow, announcing her as Princess of the realm. As she and Daenerys looked nothing alike, there would be no confusion that she was future Queen of the realm. She was helping her husband into his armor. Visenya had gotten armor made that looked like Rhaegar Targaryen's before his death for all three Targaryen's and while Daeny would only wear hers when riding Drogon, Jacaerys was required to look the part now that he was on Westerosi soil. Roslin thought he looked regal in it as she watched him move around in it to make himself comfortable. She helped him into the cloak Visenya had handed him before they left Dragonstone. It was black with the red three headed dragon stitched onto its back. The final piece she handed him was his crown, the one his father had worn before him at Dragonstone.
