21. Turning point

Originally, I was going to add the vocabulary, but now I dont because I want you guys to have to leave wattpad and go on google to search up every Korean word I use >:) . But I don't use a lot here, so eh-

Seojun's POV

I dribbled the ball in my hands, staring to see if I could pass it to any of my open teammates. I had gotten over my cold pretty quick, so I was able to see Soojin in class today! But now, I decided to make it up to my friends for not being able to sit with them these past few months. How? By playing basketball with them of course! The last time I tried, Jihoon just HAD to get involved with a gang. Which makes me wonder if he ever settled that? Anyways, Eyes on the prize. I just have to pass it, easy enough right?

I throw the basketball to Pilsoo, where he drops it onto the ground. "Pilsoo!" I yelled in frustration as the rest of us groaned. "You caught me off guard!" He whined. "Stop embarrassing me in front of my girlfriend." He added, turning to look at the girl who was leaning against the fence. She waved, cocking her head to the side. "C'mon babe, hurry up and win the game so I can go start my shift at the shop!" She cheered, her hands forming into fists. It was then when I thought I saw fire in his eyes. He nodded vigorously, picking up the ball and passing it to Jihoon who was on the opposite team.

It was then where we got into formation and paused, waiting for our referee to give us the signal. "3...2..." He started before being cut off by Jugyeong who rushed into the middle of the court. "Seojun!" She smiled, everyone groaning in frustration once more. I sigh heavily. "Jugyeong, don't run into the court silly!" I scolded, ruffling her hair in the process. He lets out a string of apologies. "I'll just wait until you're done!" She smiled, going to Jessie, Pilsoo's girlfriend. We get back into formation once more, and the referee blows his whistle.

Okay, Back in the game. It was then that I remembered Soojin. Jihoon tries to pass it to his teammate, but Pilsoo gets it. Soojin went to the library near the school today. Once school was out, I didn't come with her inside. Pilsoo runs to the other end of the court, looking around for teammates to pass it too. Soojin usually struggles with grabbing books. It's why I always come with her, to grab books on the higher shelves which she wants.

But I'm not with her right now, so she's probably getting help from that one boy in the library who keeps flirting with her. They're probably so close together right now... "Seojun!" Pilsoo calls out as I catch the ball, running to the other team's net and I jump. I hang onto the rim while the ball falls through. I let my feet dangle in the air while the rim vibrates due to the impact. I let go, shaking my hands back and forth.

"Damn, you didn't have to be THAT aggressive." Jihoon hissed. Me? Aggressive? I looked at my hands, my callouses more bronze than usual. "Huh." I remark. Jugyeong smiles at me and waves me over. "Seojun! Wanna walk home together? "she asked. "Sure!" I smile. I grab my bag and my water bottle, stuffing it inside. "Oh yeah! The same gangsters who beat us up the other day own this court and they'll be here soon!" I say nonchalantly. Jihoon Looks at me in fear and they all pack up and run away. My feet start to work on their own. "Seojun! Where are you going?!" Jugyeong called out to me, her voice sounding far away.

I turn around and look at her in confusion. "Huh?" I question while she catches up to me, out of breath. "You were walking to the library, you live in the other direction!" Oh. "But Soojin-" I started. "What about her? Oh! You're worried about her! I saw her leave right before I came to get you." Jugyeong smiled. It made me a little sad. "Did she eat??" I query.
