She stood on the hilltop, staring down at the ruins of Hogwarts: crumbled stone, dead bodies, half the Forbidden Forest charred and smoldering, while she herself was covered head to toe in debris, wounds, dirt, and blood.

"Are you sure?" He asked again.

She took a shaky breath before slowly turning to face him. "I must. It is the only way," she whispered, determined.

"You are aware, if I do this... If you do this," he began, but she cut him off.

"I know. But it's worth it. I know the price, and I am willing to pay it," she stated.

"Very well," he smiled a bittersweet smile before waving his shadowed hand. The ground began to tremble, and everything around her shifted, warped, and twisted before the world around her crumbled and faded. Then a tug came, and darkness engulfed her entirely. The air left her lungs for a split second, but, just as fast as the air left, she sucked in a sudden, sharp, deep breath as she landed painfully on the hard ground.

She rolled over onto her back as her ears slowly began to stop ringing. Her eyes unblurred and focused on the sky above her. She lay in place for a few moments, gathering her wits and waiting for everything to feel right again. Only then did she finally push herself up off the ground with a groan. Her wounds began to stitch and heal themselves back together again, while her red leather jacket, dark blue hoodie, and dark blue jeans all began to mend the rips and tears. With a short turn, she looked through the tall surrounding trees. Pulling her hood up over her head, she slowly began making her way through the forbidden forest, following the familiar tug of magic leading her. The closer she got to the edge of the forest, she began to hear the sound of voices and laughter. Coming to a stop and quickly hiding behind a tree, she looked towards the Black Lake at the group of boys lounging on the dock. Her breath caught in her throat, as soon as her eyes truly focused on them - her family.

"Oi! Watch it Prongsy! Don't get me wet!" Sirius whined, backing up and patting his hair.

"I'm sorry, Padfoot. I mistook you for a dog, not a cat!" James smirked, teasingly.

"I am a dog!! I just don't want to get my hair wet!!" Sirius pouted, as James snickered at him.
