Sun and Moon

Part Eight - Break for them

After we finished up the selection process of turning human, we saw photos of humans appearing on the screen and it said "Before you leave, choose the person most close to your idea of yourself!" we thought for a little while before we chose one each, after we did, we walked away from the screen and left to our old rooms, seeing if the new sun and moon have left yet. They had not left yet so we were shoved away into another area, a place with two twin beds for the Sun and Moon to stay in for their remaining days in their ''real life''. They only had 2 days left before turning human, they started to talk a bit.
"So, Sun what do you think you would be like as a human?" I asked awkwardly, I didn't know how to start a conversation with someone I liked.
She replied to me quickly, "Oh well, I would hope id be kind but eh maybe i'll be a bit rude." She smiled, her smile always made my heart feel like butter. I was listening to her, I thought of what she said before my mind trailed off because I saw the humans who were taking our spots as sun and moon, the protectors of  the human land.
"Oh! Look, Sun, there are the new sun and moon over there." I whispered because I guess I thought the new sun and moon wound hear me.
"Thats cool! Wanna go say hi, Moon?" she looked at me in a sweet way, looking into my eyes, not just at them, maybe it was just my imagination but I thought I saw a slight tint on her cheeks... maybe from embarrassment from seeing the new Sun and Moon! Obviously she was nervous, thats all.
"Of course I would! That sounds wonderful." I stand up and wait for her to stand up as well, I hold out my hand for her to grab. After a moment, I realized she actually grabbed my hand. I help her up and I felt my face get a bit hot. I helped her up and we started to walk to the new sun and moons place, what I didn't realize is that the new sun and moon were told to not talk to us until the last day we'd be here so when we approached them, I said to them,
"Hello! We are the old Sun and Mo-"
they cut me off by yelling and running away, I was dumbfounded by what they did but I quickly started giggling when I heard Sun start laughing and cracking up at their reactions.
"That was... laugh ... hilarious..!" she laughed,

After an hour (it is now 8:14)

"Oh, wow. It is already eight o'clock, we should start to get ready for bed and our last day here." I sigh, feeling a bit weird because we would most likely be separated for 8 or 9 years.
"Do you think they have pajamas for us?" she jokingly asked me,
"Uh probably? I am pretty sure they would have some for us."
I start to walk to our room, her following behind me. I unlocked our door and I gently opened the door... As we walked in, we saw two pairs of pajamas and clothes for the morning, it was surprisingly fancy.

I ran out of food :(
