𝒙𝒊𝒙. 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞

IT WAS THE 30th OF DECEMBER, meaning the three year anniversary of noni and rory's first kiss was tomorrow and technically their 3 year anniversary was in 2 days well midnight tomorrow, even though they had broken up like ten times in the span of three years and rory had no idea what their plan was, as far as she knew they were going to jadon's for a new years party with the rest of their friends.

rory felt like maybe noni would suprise her but then again he wasn't known to be the most romantic guy. after their one year anniversary where he got her an oversized promise ring which was silver instead of gold, aurora had thrown any hopes of any romantic surprises out the window.

however, noni was determined to make it up for her, after the year they had had, he wanted rory to know just how much she meant to him, so he would be going all out this year, he needed her to see that feom now
on things would be different, they would be much better than they had ever been, that he would be different.

rory thought he was out with the boys for a drink but he was actually trying to finish all the arrangement for tomorrow, he was currently at the club where they had their first kiss and where he asked her to be his girlfriend. it had taken him weeks ( and a lot of money) to be able to convince the owner to let him rent the rooftop bar for a night but noni knew it would all my worth it when she saw it.

the plan was to take her to jadon's new years party and make her think that was their plan for the night while he made sure everything was perfect and then he would tell her he wanted to end the night early and go home but he would drive over to the bar and suprise her with not only the gold swarovski necklace she'd been eyeing but another promise ring to make up for the last one he got her, he also decorated the entire rooftop in flowers, one by one, he put them together all on his own because he knew how much it would mean to her and also because emile fucked up his arrangements last time. everything was going to be perfect.

aurora on the other hand, was starting to feel extremely lonely, considering they would be spending their anniversary at a friend's house, she assumed noni would want to spend the whole day with her and even if he didn't have anything romantic planned, she wouldn't mind just watching a movie together or something, it just felt like he didn't care and she didn't know what to do.

she had already gotten him all his gifts and they were currently sitting patiently in the boot of her car waiting to be opened, she wondered what noni had got her, she wondered if she would actually like it or have to pretend and then tell him later how she didn't really want it. she always felt like she was ungrateful but then again, if he knew her so well why did he always get her the wrong things, was it on purpose or did he just not care.

she loved noni with all her heart and it was for the times he would be caring, sweet and thoughtful but as she thought back they weren't that many times that he had been those things except for when she wasn't talking to him, anytime they were arguing he would be the best boyfriend. she wondered if he actually loved her or just wanted to have her. she shook the thoughts from her mind, of course noni loved her, he had told her so many times, he was changing, he was getting better.

"hey, noni." rory said as she heard the line connect.

"hey love, what's up." noni responded as he put some roses in place.

"i thought we would spend today together, since we're going to jadon's tomorrow." aurora sighed trying her best not to sound needy and clingy.

"i'll be home in a bit, i'm just a bit busy with some stuff, i'll be back by 5."

"that's in two hours, and the day will be practically over, i just want to spend time with you."

"i know baby, but this is really important, i'll try and make it home by 4, is that better?"

"yeah i guess so."

"alright, i love you, i'll see you later."

"i love you too."

noni sighed as he put his phone back into pocket, he wished he could go home right now, but he had to make sure everything was perfect. rory would understand tomorrow when she saw everything, she would be so happy she would forget today, she would understand that things would be different now, they would be perfect, they wouldn't break up again, this was a forever thing, noni was sure he just needed to show rory that he was.

by the time noni finally got home, it was 4.30 and rory was nappy peacefully in their bed. he changed and crept into bed quietly, trying his best not to wake her. he layed next to her and wrapped his arms around her.

"i love you so much, i hope you know that." noni whispered in her ear before falling asleep aswell.
