Chapter 43

Back at Vali's farm Y/n and Arthur are standing in the field with their swords at the ready.

Kuroka: "So let me get this straight Arthur wants to prove he's stronger by defeating Y/n in a rematch?"

Bikou: "Seems like it."

Suddenly both Arthur and Y/n charge at each other and Arthur swings his sword at Y/n's head but he ducks and counters with a slash to Arthur's waist. Stumbling back Arthur clutches his side and dashes towards Y/n and performs a narrow but very quick horizontal swing of his blade. Y/n parrys the blow and kicks Arthur in the chest before slashing open Arthur's shoulder.

Arthur/mind: 'D-Damn bastard...I know he's strong but am I really this weak?'

Arthur unleashes a barrage of dozens of thrusts that Y/n manages to block mostly but still receives over several deep cuts and slices. Y/n is forced to move back as Arthur continues his barrage of thrusts from his blade. Y/n spins around behind Arthur and slashes open the back of his leg before he kicks Arthur to the ground.

Just then Arthur rolls away from Y/n's next attack and he throws his sword at Y/n impaling him through the shoulder. But Y/n rips the blade out and uses both swords to charge at Arthur who summons another sword. Y/n delivers two swift swings that cut open deep slices on Arthur's arms before he spins around and swings both blades in a wide motion knocking Arthur's sword aside.

Arthur: "Dammit...I guess that means you win huh?"

Y/n: "It does indeed but you've gotten stronger too maybe if you keep training you'll surpass me."

Then both Arthur and Y/n fall down on the ground panting in blood and sweat.

Bikou: "Well I guess that settles it Y/n won."

Vali: "Besides that I suppose it's about time we deliver the jewel of resurrection to the Gremmory family. That is if your alright with confronting them again Y/n?"

Y/n is left deep in thought for a very long moment before he lets out a heavy sigh.

Y/n: "Yeah alright let's get these wounds treated and get going."

Y/n says before he uses his magic to heal both himself and Arthur the two of them head back to the house to prepare for the journey.

Back at the Gremmory domain Venelana Gremmory is sitting within a bedroom where the fleshless body of Zeoticus is hovering above a magic circle. She just simply stares at her dead husband with a sad look on her face but otherwise remains completely silent. Minutes pass until a red magic circle appears in the room and the Gremmory peerage manifest through the circle.

Rias: "Mother the fallen raids are getting worse!"

Xenovia: "It would seem that they have turned the captured devils into brainwashed soldiers."

Venelana lets out a heavy sigh and stands up from her seat before she walks over to Rias and hugs her daughter.

Venelana: "I don't know what to do sweetie with all that's been happening I'm starting to lose hope."

???: "Well hope has arrived."

A voice comes out of nowhere before a portal opens and Vali along with the rest of his companions step through the portal including Y/n. Everyone is shocked to see him and Venelana lets out a scream. She summons a magic circle and fires a blast of lightning at Y/n but Vali uses a magic shield to effortlessly block the attack.

Bikou: "Would you relax Gremmory we're here to help you out."

Venelana: "What the Hell is that wretched creature doing here? I told you to destroy him!"

Arthur: "This wretched creature has the final item to complete the ritual."

Hearing Arthur's words Venelana stops for a moment seeming shocked she crosses her arms with a glare and remains silent.

Vali: "As you already know the fallen angel raids started when Y/n killed Zeoticus and weakened the Gremmory family. So if Zeoticus is brought back then the Gremmory domains forces can repel the fallen angels."

Venelana: "What I don't understand is why that damn dragon is still alive."

Kuroka: "Oh hush sweet tits since we couldn't beat Skullcrusher so we decided to let someone else that can retrieve the jewel of resurrection. Afteral once Zeoticus is back to life the fallen angels will have no choice but to stop their plans."

Rias: "So does this mean Y/n is the one that's been repelling most of the raids all this time?"

Y/n: "Even though I hate devils for all the pain they've caused me those people were innocent. I did what I thought was necessary."

Venelana is silent for a very long moment as she simply glares at Y/n and then she lets out a huff.

Venelana: "Even though I hate that dragon for what he's done to this family he holds the key to bringing my husband back. So I suppose I could overlook this for now at least."

With the final piece of the ritual added Zeoticus is enveloped in a crimson cocoon of energy before his body is completely brought back to life.

Zeoticus: "Venelana!"

Zeoticus exclaims before he hugs his wife and she starts crying in his shoulder. But then Zeoticus spots Y/n and he becomes enraged.

Zeoticus: "You murderous bastard!"

Right before Zeoticus could do anything he is restrained by Vali's magic.

Vali: "That murderous bastard helped bring you back to life cut him some slack."

Zeoticus: "Like hell I will!"

Y/n: "Quit your whining old man!"

Y/n demands in a loud voice that silences the entire room afterwards he lets out a heavy sigh.

Y/n: "You won't have to ever see my face again because I'm not going to be in the underworld or earth ever again."

Hearing Y/n's words everyone else becomes shocked and confused but then a red magic circle appears beneath his feet and flames start swirling around him.

Y/n: "I've decided that my time to leave has come I'm going to go someplace far away. A place where you'll never find me."

Rias: "Y/n what are you trying to tell us? Are you saying we're never going to see you again?"

Surprisingly Y/n gives Rias a small smile before the flames swirling around him intensify.

Y/n: "It's been a long ride but now it all has to end farewell everyone."

With those final words Y/n disappears leaving everyone in shock and stunned in silence.

Kuroka: "Is that it? He's just gone?"

Kuroka says breaking the silence and Rias falls down to her knees and starts crying.

Rias/mind: 'I...I can't believe this...the dragon I raised from when he was just a baby. He's gone now...he's gone.'

(Years later)

Somewhere in an unknown place where lush green landscapes filled with animals who roam the valley is none other than the crimson dragon Y/n resting within a cave upon a hoard of golden treasure. As the sun rises and shines upon his eyes he awakens with an annoyed growl before a blue dragon steps closer to him and nuzzles his head soothing him.

Y/n/mind: 'Finally I am at peace.'
