Note: Notice I put Arisu & GN!Reader, not Arisu x GN!Reader. This happens pre-borderlands and during borderlands. For the sake of the fic, let's imagine Arisu knew Usagi even before borderlands. TW: death, there's another tw but i'd like it to be a surprise.

Being in love. Y/N was always in the clouds when it came to love. They were in the clouds especially because of Arisu Ryohei.

They sighed in that way where you smile, and there's invisible hearts shooting from your eyes.

Y/N can also come from up so high before crashing to the ground.

Those hearts shattered as Arisu smiled, his smile warm and loving.

What was so wrong with that?

Maybe because his smile was for somebody else.

Y/N watched bitterly as Arisu laughs, scooping up a woman in his arms,twirling her around before giving her a peck.

Yuzuha Usagi.

Y/N turned away bitterly, as Chota pat their back apologetically, and Karube sighed.

"Y/N, stop hoping. You'll only hurt yourself."

"I'm no masochist but i'd rub salt in these wounds for him." Y/N muttered, looking away briefly, suddenly interested in their worn down shoes.

Arisu and Usagi got together and Y/N didn't know about it. It hurt Y/N's feelings because they'd usually be the first to know about Arisu's situations.

It also hurt Y/N that they didn't suck up their pride and just confess.

(Flashback)

Y/N, they'd been in love with Arisu even during high school. Yes, that sappy, puppy love. It was just a phase for others, maybe a canon event, and sometimes highschool lovers actually made it through that stage. For Y/N, they didn't know what it was.

If it was a phase, wouldn't they be sick of it by now? Wouldn't they have moved on? What about now that he has a girlfriend? Should Y/N just move on?

No. Y/N tried, tried to see different guys at school, tried to join friend groups and force themself to like someone in it.

It continued to the point they'd let Karube set them up with some guys that went to the pub for a drink and hopefully find the perfect match.

Once Y/N finally decided to suck it up and confess during their reunion though, it was too late.

Y/N entered the bar location Karube had sent to their groupchat. They looked around before spotting Chota, who was waving at them to get their attention.

"Guys, hey" they smiled, noticing someone's absence.

"Where's Ryohei?"

"He went to get a drink, and he said he was going to fetch something."

"Did he order food?"

"No, I didn't."

Y/N turns around to see Arisu as they smile, but their eyes fall to the woman next to him. Short hair, a beautiful smile, and she wore..sports attire? The woman looked nervous as she waved at them.

"Hi..i'm Yuzuha Usagi."

They all greeted her.

"Is she your friend? A colleague?" Chota asked politely.

"He doesn't have a job stupid, maybe he met her on his online games." Karube jokes.

"Remember when we went to that parkour theme park 10 months ago? We met there. Well..guys, meet my girlfriend Usagi" Arisu smiled.
