Sunrays peered through my window, gently waking me up. I washed my face with a clean cloth and put on my comfortable clothes. It was a puffy sleeved crème shirt under a semi corset black top with yellow seams. The whole thing was accompanied by some dark tight pants under a delicate beige skirt that ends just under my knees. I took my satchel bag with me, putting in some of my medicine books and my jewelry pendent from the prince.
I put on my low heel boots and headed for the palace. It had been a couple of days since the ball, and i couldn't wait to see my friend again. I wanted to see the place where she worked and all the herbs she uses. I was ready to learn from her, which was strange since we were about the same age.
Arrived at the entrance, the guards stopped me and asked me what business i had at the castle. I immediately showed the pendent, and without further questions, they let me pass. It was a bit strange how easy it was. Just what was this pendent that Zen gave me.
I started to walk around, but since i haven't been to the palace many times, i didn't really know where i was meant to go to find Shirayuki. I wandered around, not finding a single person i could ask for directions.
I eventually heard some sparring and headed to meet people and ask for some directions. There i saw the knights in the middle of sword practice. I looked at them for a little while and then recognized one of them. He was a young boy 2 years younger than me that i knew growing up. Kyo was the son of my father's colleague. When they took a break from their practice, i walked over to him.
"Hey Kyo! Remember me?" He looked up and acted surprised before smiling. "Hey! How have you been? Haven't seen you since that accident..." I looked at him and said i was doing good, but before i could ask for directions, other guards approached me.
"Hey beautiful, what are you doing in this part of the castle? Us guards have a break right now, wanna come with us to have a drink?" My skin shivered at his clear intentions. I took a deep breath before refusing the offer and instead asked Kyo to show me to the pharmacy.
He hurried me out of there and apologized on behalf of those guys. "They don't get the chance to meet a lot of pretty women like you. You have to forgive them." i ignored his explanations still weirded out by their approach.
We arrived, and i thanked him, but before i could walk in, he grabbed my wrist. "You... you aren't married yet, huh?" He said, looking at my ring finger. "Good to know." he whispered before walking away.
I decided to brush off his weird comment and walked in, excited to see my friend. I opened the door and to my surprise the person inside wasn't her, but him. The man that had brought me back inside at the party.
He was standing on the open window looking outside. He gazed at me once the door was open and asked me what i was here for. He was wearing a more relaxed outfit than at the party. Having a sort of sleeveless jecket and some weird hat.
"I came to meet with the court pharmacist..." i managed to say, still not breaking eye contact. His cat eyes peered inside my soul before saying that she was out in the garden.
He then asked me to follow him as he showed me the way outside. I saw her, bending down to pick up some herbs. I walked up to her, and she smiled brightly when she recognized me. "Obi and, oh, it's you! I was hoping you would visit the palace soon!"
I showed her my books, and her eyes sparkled at the sight of them, excited to read them. I helped her pick up the herbs she was collecting and we headed back inside.
She sat down at her desk and started flipping throught the pages of her new books. She then noticed some notes, i had left on one of the pages next to a recipe, that read:
Conclusive
She turned to me giving me a curious look. "Oh its just a little oinment i made myself...you know, to heal little cuts"
Shirayuki started asking question about how i made it and how effective it really was. At the same time, Obi walked in with some freshly cut firewood for the fireplace.
I saw he had some little cuts on his hands from the harsh bark. I picked up some herbs and quickly mixed them together like i was used to before walking over to him.
"Its easier if i just show you instead" I said to Shirayuki as i held his hand to apply some oinment on it.
Obi's pov
I tried to take a step back, uncomfortable at her touch but she was too quick and grabbed my hand. As she was applying it, looking down i could smell her hair. It smelled really nice, not like perfume, more subtle.
It smelled almost like the rose plant in the garden......"roses?" The word escaped my mouth as i thought it. Her gaze sprung up, making it so our faces were too close. I saw her cheeks turn pinkish as she nodded before leaving saying she had to go.
By chance, someone walking in stopped her escape. It was Miss Kiki here to deliver a message.
"Obi and Shirayuki, Zen wants to talk to you. Oh and you could tag along as well, he's been wanting to speak with you as well" she said the second part looking at her.
