Aashvi: Are you sure it's a good idea?
Nidhi: It's how it's supposed to be. An idea either works or fails, there's nothing like a 'good idea'.
She exclaimed while her eyes shifted from her phone to the name of the bar, glittering in the moonlight and otherwise dark night.
Nidhi: Yeah, this is it! Happy Hours! He is here. *smiles confidently*
Aashvi: I still don't think this is good, it could backfire in so many different ways, wha...
Nidhi: It could, doesn't mean it will! Nothing's bad gonna happen, trust me. This is one of the most used ideas in almost all of our missions involving powerful people and I have myself enacted it out so many times, I'm almost an expert at it. Now, let's go!
She held Aashvi's arm and literally dragged her inside, in spite of her protests.
Aashvi: I never knew being a detective would make me break one of my most significant principles.
Nidhi: *scanning the room, looking for someone* And, which is?
Aashvi: Which is never entering a place that reeked of alcohols, drugs and sweat from people dancing and making out in the corners. *disgusted expression*
Nidhi: Don't tell me you never stepped foot inside a bar while you were in New York?
Aashvi had returned from New York a year ago. She was there for her higher studies while also getting specially trained to join the 'Jaagte Raho' firm, a franchise of a New York detective agency. She was exceptionally skilled but her struggles in the firm mainly had to do with her inexperience rather than a low IQ.
Aashvi: Miss Nidhi Aggarwal, I was there for my studies, not to party and hang out with boys. If mummy gets to know I am in a bar, she will murder me after disowning me and not even regret.
Nidhi: Just chill, you won't be drinking anyways. *looks at her* Waise, if Aunty is so perplexed about bars and clubs, what will happen when she gets to know you are getting married?
Aashvi: Let me tell you, she will be really happy, like a typical Indian mother, because I have finally decided to settle with a guy. But, when she gets to know I'm doing this for the sake of my mission, the conversation will cut down to her chappal and my cheeks.
Nidhi laughed heartily as she heard that, earning a glare from Aashvi who burst into laughter nonetheless.
Nidhi: Oh, look, it's him.
Aashvi's gaze shifted in the direction. She saw a well built man, clad in his three piece suit. So typical of him as a business man. Aashvi couldn't help but notice the forced smile on his lips, the depth in those hazel brown orbs, the way he was clinking his glass together with- what looked like his associates'. His calm and composed persona screamed wealth, confidence and power. Aashvi wasn't the kind of girl to get impressed merely by good looks- something the Thakur hire tend to have in abundance. She had seen handsome men all around her in her 24 years of life, starting with her dad, who, according to her was the most handsome of all, at her school, during her university life and later in New York. She had been asked out by many of these charming people too only to reject every one of them. Looks really didn't work magic on her.
Nidhi: You and your future husband sail in the same boat. He is a non-drinker too.
Aashvi: *scoffs* Yeah, I can clearly see that. He is holding a drink in his hand...
Nidhi: Ohh, that? It's a mocktail. He only dri....wait, don't tell me you didn't go through the files properly.
Aashvi: *chuckles awkwardly* I was busy studying about the other Thakurs, they were more interesting than him. Then, I had a meeting with Agent 1 so I had to go, didn't get enough time to accurately dig into his profile, considering he was the very last Thakur mentioned in the file.
