Quick warning:
This is a work of fiction, aimed at adults. I am in no way shape or form promoting this sort of relationship. Please do not seek it out in real life, it never ends up the way we see on wattpad, it's borderline abusive and dangerous. This is a dark romance, so this would be a great time to stop reading, if you're not into that. That being said, enjoy.

The love of my life's hand is in mine and we're walking home together, I'm in utter disbelief. I'm finally able to talk to her and I think I need to take advantage of this moment before she ends up ignoring my existence again tomorrow. I wish tonight could go on forever. I have to make it go on forever. Our homes come into view, and I'm so grateful my mother isn't around anymore. I don't think she would deal well with me being high or holding Elizabeth's hand, let alone staying out late.
I gently tug on Elizabeth's hand to get her attention. She seems to finally notice where we are and her smile drops. I feel an ache in my chest seeing her so anxious.
"I guess we're here.." she sighs in disappointment, before looking at me and giving me a sad smile. "I'll see you around Ivan."
She kisses my cheek and tries to leave, but I can't seem to let her go. My hand tightens around hers, slightly pulling her back. She turns around with a puzzled expression.
I go to say something, but I get too in my head.
"You can spend the night at mine." I say instead. She gives me a gentle, grateful smile. "No, it's best if I just go in."
I nod in acceptance.
She turns to leave again, but I still can't let go. Noticing this, she takes a step back towards me. She places her soft hand on my cheek, I subconsciously lean closer to it.
"You want to go to school together tomorrow?" She asks as she gently separates our hands and places it on my chest. I nod in response.
Smiling, she removes her hands and walks to her house. My hand feels cold and lonely. I watch till she's safely inside before making my way up to my mailbox.
I pull out two letters from my mother, some bills and a large blue envelope.
Once I walk into my house, I crumple up the two letters and open the bills first. If it wasn't for my inheritance from my father, I would be homeless by now. I skim through the electricity and water bill before tossing them on the counter and opening the large blue envelope.
"Dear Ivan,
Welcome to Yale college! It with great enthusiasm that I write to congratulate you.."
I toss the paper with the bills, and make my way to my bedroom. I'm not exactly surprised, to say the least.
All that's important to me is I stay near the love of my life. I toss my back pack on my desk chair before opening my curtains to peek into her room. I find her already at her window, she waves at me as soon as she sees me. I wave back.
What I really wanted to ask her was the be my girlfriend, but I knew she wasn't ready. Going to school with me is a step, but I will make her mine.
"Good night, Dumbo." She mouths.
"Good night." I mouth back.
