"You're free to go back to your room for the night," the nurse said. "I'm sorry you're feeling so down, but at least your cold symptoms have been gone for days now."

Numbly, I nodded and left the office and headed down the stairs, mindlessly walking back to my dorm.

A buzz from my uniform jacket awoke me from my haze. It was a snap from my friend. I opened it to find her surrounded by friends, at some party. Red seemed to cloud my vision.

I texted: whose party are you at??

Once I got the information, I made a sharp turn and left the building. If I was in a more rational state, I would have known not to take such a big risk at getting caught. But, by some miracle, I got out to the school parking lot unnoticed.

Slipping into my car, I slammed down on the gas pedal. Reverse and forward, down the mountain. I didn't stop to make sure no one was in my way. Thinking back... I could have run someone over.

Over a bridge, slippery with ice, I glided at a speed double the limit. My face only broke into a smile when the grand mansion came into view.

I threw up my food, along with some blood. I could hardly breathe. I knew I was going to die, why didn't they just kill me already?

And so I suffered.
