"The only thing we know is he made the drop" Nico said showing me the police report he acquired. We just got word from the police commissioner in Philly that one of 'my people' was killed in a drug deal gone wrong. That's the official story anyway. In truth Alex wasn't an official member just yet. I only agreed to meet with him because he kept insisting that he had viable information on the detective I've been tailing. He didn't know anything about what I want him but he had something on him that he thought I would want. I was eventually going to kill him anyway. He was way to ambitious and eager to be apart of the fold. The only thing information can get you is paid. It does not buy you seat at my table. But Alex felt like because he has an Italian daddy he should be allowed in. It was that kind of thinking that was going to get him killed. I don't know what he knew or why you was so determined on telling me directly but I told him we could talk more once he proved himself. I sent him to Philly to deliver one of my generals their weekly packages and to pick up my money. He was shot in the head after he received the money.
One thing I hate about law enforcement is they do not pay attention to facts or details the way they should. You can most definitely guess that's the reason so many murders go unsolved. And the ones they do half way solve they almost always have the wrong guy. This is one of those times. I don't fancy having to do their jobs for them but I need to know what happened and if it had anything to do with what he was going to tell me. I can tell you at first glance that this is not a drug deal gone wrong. The briefcase with a quarter million dollars was still laying idle by his head body. If he was simply getting robbed or in this case ripped off the money would be gone. His car and his keys were still at the scene. A thief would have taken that for sure. The only thing missing was his phone which leads me to believe what ever he had to tell me was in that phone and him being popped off had to do with what he knew.
"Did you all check the cameras in the area?" I asked to no one in particular. "I'm doing that now" Andino looked up from his laptop and smirked. I arched a eyebrow and shot him a glare. Sometimes it amazes how even the little shit he does pisses me off. "There aren't any traffic cameras in the area just cameras from a Chinese take out on the corner and a camera in the alley where it happened." He lowered the information board and both videos started playing. "Andy you're the only one in the room that has four eyes please play one at a time" Nico groaned from the sofa rubbing his temples. He's the only who calls Andino Andy. I hate it Andino hates and I'm sure Nico does it because he knows it's annoying.
"My bad brother" Andino said pausing one video and replaying the other. The video that's playing is the one from the take out place. The store is on the corner of an intersection. Alex's rental drives pass the place from the left. His car and the store are on the same side of the street but he crosses the light and parks directly across from the place so we only see the back of the car. We watch as Alex exists the vehicle and walks into the alley where the drop is to be made. No less than a minute after he walks into the alley the passenger door opens. I know he couldn't have been dumb enough to actually take someone with him to a fucking drop off. He's fucking lucky he's dead because I would kill himself if he was in front of me right now. A figure exists the vehicle and to my surprise is a fucking female. That guy truly was an idiot. She puts her back on the wall apparently waiting, listening or both. After a while she walks into the alley. We can't see on this camera what's being done but she doesn't stay long. She walks out of the alley and jogs across the street stuffing something into her purse. She throws something into a trash bin and disappears after a trolley blocks the view waiting at the red light.
"Play the video from the alley" I say. I've already come to the conclusion that whoever she is she's the one who killed him. Serves him right she shouldn't have been there in the first place. I'm just hoping the video from the alley will give us a view of her face so we can run facial recognition. As the video starts to play it starts with my general waiting for Alex to make his appearance. They exchange a few words then hand each other their respective goods. Before Alex turns the girl is standing behind him with a gun pointed at his head. She's wearing a face mask so we can't see anything aside from her eyes. Alex drops the briefcase to look for his gun he no doubt doesn't have. He really wouldn't have made it, he's truly a fucking idiot. She says something to him then puts a bullet in his brain. She bent down to pick up what I can only assume is a shell casing then walks over to take his phone from his pocket. She then leaves.
