The boat scenes of this movie is at the heart of the aesthetic- and it captures the vibes the most.
The only time these people get along is when they sit and have a CIVILIZED dinner conversation on the boat. Dinner is a nice time to do that! I wonder what they're having...
Tom Ripley trying to adjust the sails is really funny, but the boat, the blue water, the wind, and the loose dress shirts really capture this aesthetic in this photo!
hen they drop Marge off on this island (I can't think of the name of it at this moment) it looks like they get along great even though they're all mad at each other and Tom is planning something wretched.
They look like your average friend group at first glance. Unfortunately that's just a cover up. Philippe knows the truth about how much of a backstabber (literally and figuratively) Tom truly is.
Here is when Philippe decides to play a "harmless" prank on Tom by leaving him in the dinghy and detaching it from the sailboat. Marge finds him later, passed out in the dinghy with severe sun stroke.
Here, Tom is relaxing on the boat while Philippe kisses Marge's neck. This is one of the most iconic scenes in this movie. (Tom is way hotter but not if you know the truth)
