She Holds My Heart (Version 1)

She tells me she's scared

And my heart breaks a little more
For I never want to see
Fear consume the one I adore

I ask her of what
And her eyes betray her fear
She says of losing me
My heart aches to hear

But I give her reassurance
That nobody will take me away
For my heart belongs to her
And in her arms it will stay

But then like a sudden storm
She has to leave and go
And I can't help but wonder
If there's something else she won't show

Perhaps she's hiding something
From me, her love so true
But whatever it may be
I know it's for a reason, whatever she might do

For her happiness is paramount
More than anything else
And if that means hiding secrets
I will trust her and myself

For all I ever want
Is to see her smile
Even if that means
My own heart will be in denial

So I tell her once again
That her happiness is all I desire
And if she ever needs to leave
My love for her will never tire

For she holds my heart
In her gentle, loving hands
And as long as she's happy
My world will always stand

I may not know what she's hiding
But it doesn't matter to me
For as long as she's happy
That's all I ever want to see.
