"Is this fine?" Haerin, for the nth time asked Danielle.

"Haerin." She stood up from the bed and walked closer to Haerin, who was fixing her hair Infront of the mirror. "Why are you trying to put your best foot forward in this situation?"

The other girl remains silent.

"Haerin." Danielle took another step, until she was intimately behind her. Slowly, her hand creep around Haerin's waist. "You know I don't like it when you ignore me." She whispered directly into her ears. Her hot breath made Haerin's whole body temporarily incapacitated.

"Danielle..." She looked back at her through the mirror, the sparks that ignited the moment they looked at each other's eyes were undeniable. Haerin barely had time to remove herself from Danielle's grasp, when Danielle strenuously turned her around.

"I don't like your clothes today." Danielle deadpans as she buried her face in Haerin's neck. Despite Haerin's effort to push her away, she was left vulnerable the moment Danielle's lips made contact with her bare skin. The tingling sensation accompanied by a slight throbbing on her neck made her moan mindlessly.

Hearing Haerin's breath hitch was like having thousands of angels singing, calling out for Danielle. Her mind was hazy at that point.

"Danielle...S-stop. Stop!"

Danielle stumbles onto the floor from Haerin's
forceful push. With widen eyes, she looked up at Haerin, who was breathing heavily. Danielle regained her composure and looked away. "I'm sorry." She whispered.

Haerin was about to speak up when her phone rang. She answered it and it was Hanni.
"Where the heck are you?" With an exasperated tone, she heard her friend say.

She looked back at Danielle who was still in a trance, sitting on the bed. "I'm coming."

Haerin scattered and grabbed her purse. "I'm leaving... Let's talk later."

"Lover's quarrel?" She heard Hanni's voice through the phone. She couldn't help but just sigh.

Haerin's POV

I felt shiver, the moment I open the car door and got inside with Hanni on the driver's seat.
I looked out the window and saw Danielle, staring back at me. Did she snapped out of it? How long was she staring at me?

I could feel the intensity of her gaze piercing through the transparent window of Hanni's car. I could barely acknowledge any word from the girl inside the car with me.

"Haerin?" Hanni finally snapped her finger in front of my face, I averted my eyes to look at her.

"Sorry, I was just..."

"Hey, it's okay. I just wanted to clarify things." She started the engine and drove off. "Jihoo's
father really ask you to his good-for-nothing son's- oh and not to mention, your abusive ex's funeral?"

"Hanni."

"I'm clarifying things!"

"Alright-yes!" I sighed and massage my temples. "Jihoo's father came to our house and asked me if I would come. I told him yes."

"Are you sure this is a good idea though? What if they'd invite you to get revenge? Or maybe they had other evil things in mind like-"

"Hanni!"

"I'm just saying! There's a low chance you would get murdered by Jihoo's parents, but it's never zero. I'm not taking possibilities of my death because of your affairs." Her statement made my eyes roll.

"Wow...what a friend." She shrugged. "But seriously, his parents aren't that bad. His father and I were close actually."

She looked at me throug the rearview mirror with a questioning look.

"Mr. Kwang was one of the people who asked me to break up with his son. But I was to ignorant to see why...until Hyein slapped me with facts."

"Speaking of Hyein, why didn't you ask her to accompany you instead of me?"

"She had errands."

"Oh, and I don't?"

"Come on, it's been forever since we got to hang out. Just the two of us."

Hanni scoffed. "In a funeral. What an occasion you pick." Sarcasm lingered in her voice.

I chuckled and blew her a kiss, which she playfully catches. She then opened the window and threw it.

"Phase Hanni out." I said, writing her name on my palm using my finger. She only chuckled and shrugged.

We spent the whole time talking about random stuff as she drives. And despite our tiny bickerings, I'm glad she's the one accompanying me in this situation. I'm at ease with her presence.

We arrived at Kwang residence and I got nervous the moment I saw how many people were visiting, all in conservative attires. We got out of the car and walk towards the house.

"So some people do cared about- Oww!" I nudged Hanni's side a little bit with force before she could finish her word.

A moment later, Mr. Kwang greeted us and led us inside where I came face to face with Mrs. Kwang. She smiled soothingly at me and took my trembling hands.

I didn't failed to see the white casket, where he layed peacefully....
