Chapter 1

Dazai POV

"I-i.... Chu-chuuya is this a joke?" I stuttered, why was I stuttering? Was it bcs of odasaku? Wait this video is real or fake? I don't even know, then why am I acting so vulnerable? Is this what the once terrifying demon prodigy has now come down to now ? Am I even not doing the one job people think I am best at? Putting a mask over my emotions?.... I questioned myself while staring at the screen with wide eyes. I felt everyone's eyes on me as i started to take deep breaths. Was i really going to have a panic attack? Huh! What am I even saying,that stuff is for humans!!I am not even one I thought but here i was already hyperventilating. My knees felt weak as i stumbled backwards falling back on the couch(i think or whatever it is on which dazai usually lays down) still breathing heavily. It's funny how dramatically a person can change. Yeah... Change....

My train of wild thoughts came to a stop as I felt a pair of soft yet strong arms wrap around me. I looked up to see chuuya who was holding me close to him trying to calm me down. I didn't care at this point if anyone knew i was dating a port mafia executive as i snuggled in chuuya's chest holding him close to me. It was a new experience for me, I didn't know how to react to such an emotion so i just started still before giving chuuya a peck on the cheek not being bothered by the gasps i heard behind me before sitting with my head in my hands trying to process the fact that my supposedly dead best friend was alive.

Once again looking at the clip of the red haired man talking to akutagawa i knew the clip was recently taken and there was no way it would have been edited as chuuya himself brought it directly as I finished watching the clip analysing every single detail Ranpo suddenly said
"How did you know it wasn't a fake one dazai,i mean it's obvious but still I would like to confirm since i can't help but agree with the fact you're not a mere readable person like most"

"Well...'I started'

Flashback*

"Nee dazai.. You know there is a person working under akutagawa rumoured to refuse to kill" I heard chuuya say

"What?... Really?" I asked him reminding myself that odasaku was not the only person who did something like that maybe this person chuuya mentioned got inspired by him after hearing some rumours to not kill.

"Yeah"chuuya replied

"Hmm... Sounds interesting"i remarked

"Yeah though he interests me even more bcs he seems to have similar tendencies as your friend oda and I would love to take a look at this person" chuuya said

"Hmm... That..is true" I further added

Flashback over*

"Yeah so the moment chuuya gave me the drive I had a hunch that this would be the case"

"WAIT wait wait... What are you guys saying?!! Not everyone in this room is a genius"kunikida said followed by yosano

"Yeah Dazai you are not usually like this as well so this MUST be something unusual"

I sighed "this person you are seeing in this clip was my best friend yosano..."

"So?... How is that unusual though I am surprised you have other friends beside the agency!" Kunikida exclaimed

"..." Only silence was heard from my side

"He died 4 years ago" suddenly chuuya said

"But we just saw him in the video!!" Atsushi exclaimed

"And exactly how do you expect us to belive a Mafia member"kunikida further added

To be honest I didn't wanted to answer their questions and just wanted to die i couldn't do this anymore

" He is not lying.....4 years ago Odasaku did die in my own arms...." I said

"...."

"And you can trust chuuya he wouldn't lie about this..." I added

"Hum... But why is a port mafia executive giving us all this information! Do you want to blackmail him or something? And what do you want in return ?!!"

"Ohh that... I don't want anything in return"chuuya said as calmly as he could not i could tell he was getting annoyed after noticing my discomfort

"And as for why.... dazai?...."chuuya turned to me before asking  "can i..?"and i face him a light nod

"Well that's because we are married"chuuya continued
