Min Yoongi and Hwang Heri have been best friends since middle school. Heri was a shy quiet girl with some lingering baby fat making her a perfect target to be picked on. Yoongi was also the quiet type, only he had an aura of 'don't fuck with me' so he got along with most everyone. He watched the first week of Heri transferring to his school, her getting picked on. Girls called her a bitch and a cow even though she wasn't that chubby, she just had a little thickness. She allowed the girls, and a few guys, to say and do whatever they wanted to her as she kept her head down and stayed quiet. After a week of standing by watching Yoongi realized Heri wasn't going to stand up for herself and had seen enough. One thing he can't stand is a bully. So he took her under his wing and protected her from all the bullies. Once it was established that they were friends everyone backed off her, not wanting to face the wrath that is Min Yoongi. Heri was forever grateful for his friendship and quickly developed a crush on him. She never told him though because she was so grateful for his friendship when no one else ever tried.
They both loved music and quickly found music, and them comfortable with the silence, as their commonalities. She was very good in school while he was a slacker, so she helped him to stay afloat throughout high school. He taught her about producing and mixing beats even though she could never create like he could. She was in awe of his genius mind when it came to making music. She was a very good writer and he was in awe of her song writing abilities, him explaining that her 'poems' were amazing songs. They nurtured each other's crafts and became well known by high school as a power couple with music, her writing while he mixed and produced songs from them. They entered talent shows at the school and always won hands down. Heri had a decent voice singing while Yoongi could also spit raps like a pro.
Heri eventually became popular in a sense, due in large part to Yoongi. He saved her. When she transferred to his school her mother had recently died from a brain tumor which left her broken. Her father moved them from Ilsan to Daegu for a fresh start, both having been gutted by her mother's slow death. This is where her introverted personality stemmed from. She had been very lively and outgoing up until her mother became terminally ill. Everything changed after her death. She loved her father but felt the separation after she died. Her father loved her mother so much he could barely function, hence moving to Daegu for a fresh start, and relying on the help of his parents who lived there. He was so lost from losing the love of his life and had no clue how to raise a teenager. And a girl at that. Her grandparents were so loving and did their best to give her the love she was missing from her mother. Between them, and her newfound friend Yoongi, Heri started to come out of her shell again. She slowly came back to life after such a traumatizing death.
The biggest thing Heri noticed about Yoongi was that, even though he didn't seem to care about anything or anyone, people gravitated toward him. All the girls in school wanted to date him and all the guys wanted to hang with him. She totally got it though, Yoongi was super cute! He stood only maybe a couple inches taller than her and was on the leaner side. He wasn't a huge fan of sports, preferring to be inside with his sound board and computer over out in the sun, so he was paler than most people as well. But none of that mattered. He projected confidence and people gravitated to that. That was another reason why Heri quickly developed a crush on him, he was always so confident with everything he did. Right down to how he walked down the hallways. He didn't date that much but did have a couple girlfriends. One, Sanha, was Heri's least favorite. She didn't like her and Sanha reciprocated the same feelings. Sanha was a typical bitch in school, popular because she was pretty. She was a cheerleader and made decent grades, but she had an awful personality. Heri blames Namjoon for her and Yoongi dating for that horrid year, him pushing and pushing Yoongi until he finally agreed to go on a date with her. He asked Heri what she thought but she couldn't tell him the truth. She knew he kind of liked Sanha, her looks anyway. She didn't want to be the one who told him not to date such a vile girl because she didn't want people to say things like she liked Yoongi, which some always had already. And she wanted to be a supportive friend, so she told him to go for it.
