Hello and welcome back to this story, sorry if you where hoping for an update in the other one's but if you are here for this one (Although i slightly doubt that much), then welcome back and i'll just let you get right to this chapter. Enjoy.
* Ring**Ring*
As my eyes would shoot open i look around the room. Laying next to me was Mina still as i look at the clock on the bedside table reading 00:30 now. Looking at my phone currently still ringing i look at the caller's ID.
Y/N: You've got to be fucking with me.
I would silently curse under my breath as the ID read Smith. Sighing as i picked up the phone and accepted the call.
Y/N: Good evening.
Smith: Evening Y/N, my apologies for interrupting your beauty sleep but we got a lead.
Y/N: A lead on what Smith?
Smith: The kidnappings, we've got a location and you're our closest asset in the region and the most qualified for the task.
Sighing as i got up from the bed, covering Mina with a blanket i would get up and stretch hearing my joints pop into place as i look around. Putting the phone against my shoulder as i wrote a quick note for Mina.
Y/N: And where might this lead take me then, any clue on the species already either?
Smith: It's in the middle of town, although its in the parts being renovated so no worries about civilians interfering, we already got the area secured. As for species we still have no clue.
Picking up my clothes from around the room and putting them on i had left the not reading "Out for work, see you tomorrow morning" On the bedside table as i continued to my room quietly, picking up a vest and my baton along with some tranquilizer and rubber bullets.
Smith: So, you up for the task, I've sent you the ping of the location already.
Taking a look at the screen of my phone i noticed it to not be too far from here, doable on foot in about 15 minutes. I guess i could go for some fresh air.
Y/N: ETA in about 20 then, i'll have a look around.
Smith: Thank you Y/N, your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Y/N: Yea yea, you owe me after this one though.
Hearing a small giggle from the other end of the phone i just hung up as i walk to the hall, putting on some shoes, a coat and a winter collar that covered my neck and mouth as i continued outside, taking a deep breath as i started walking to the point i was sent by Smith.
Y/N: Here goes nothing
Arriving there soon enough i noticed one glaring issue. It was dark as al hell, the streetlights were of as thanks to construction efforts with the wiring leaving the area in almost complete darkness except for the moonlight that was already partially disrupted by clouds. Clicking on my flashlight and taking the Baton into my other hand i walked the streets.
There was something unnerving about the quiet around here. I know nobody lives here but with the constant dread of the darkness around i couldn't help but feel a slight feeling of unease settling upon me. Almost as if there was something watching me from the shadows. Yet i couldn't seem to pinpoint from where exactly or rather yet,from who or what.
As the wind would pick up sending a cold shiver up my spine, the soft pitter pattering of water droplets from the condensing air could be heard all around me. Looking around it was dark alleyway after alleyway. Shining my light into each one the results came back empty every time.
