'HI, sleepy head.' The whisper in my ear slowly wakes me up as I groan to stretch my hands, and I slowly open my eyes.
Wow, Bella in the flesh. I feel like I am dreaming, my eyes widen up of shock as I am looking at her like I'm seeing a ghost. I rub my eyes severally to see if I'm seeing well, and it is her. I try to murmur some words but her giggle cuts me off and I take out a deep breath.
Maybe I'm dreaming, let me go back to sleep and wake up for real this time. I put my head back of my pillow as I close my eyes, assuming I'm trying to sleep.
'I'm giving you less than 30 minutes to prepare, or else we're going to be late.' I hear Bella say as she leaves.
A few minutes later I wake up, and it's really like that was all just a dream and I'm starting to think. Do I really miss Bella that much. But then, I can never blame myself. I take a shower and prepare myself for school and just as I am done, I take my bag and phone and I head downstairs. Okay, maybe I was not dreaming earlier on.
I get shocked as I approach the living room which is opposite to the kitchen to find Bella waiting for me, and I slow down my pace.
'Bella?' I ask shook, and she turns to me as she smiles and stands up.
'HI, I thought I should come by. I've noticed that I've been distant lately, and I should manage making some time for you too cause you are my friend.' Bella says stuttering, and all I can do is nod but I am still shook.
'So...' She continues, and I look at my mom who has a bright face on and I sigh as I smile.
'Okay, then. We better get going. ' I briefly say.
'Bye, mom.' I continue as Bella and I walk out.
Maybe she is really back, and she wants to be a better friend. I mean you heard her too, she's trying to manage making some time for everyone she loves and I am included. Maybe I was wrong when I thought Matt was trying to sabotage our friendship, Bella hadn't just figured it out by then. I have a big smile on as Bella and I get in my car and I start driving us to school.
We talk here and there but a little, until when we arrive at school and walk in together. We stand by the hallway as Bella shows me her recent pictures with Matt on the different dates they have been so far, until Ken shows up to pass by and I clear my throat as I try to ignore him but I see him approaching us like he is about to pass right between us. I hope he doesn't.
'Ladies.' Ken says as he passes right behind me to an extend that I felt a fibre of his finger touch me under my sky blue skirt I'm wearing, and I even pull it down.
I return my eyes to look in Bella's phone, to ignore everything that has just happened but Bella is shocked, lost and confused.
'Since when does Ken greet us? Ladies?' Bella asks, and I lift up my shoulders.
'I don't know.' I add.
'Ah, ah. You should be knowing something because you are the one who has been spending a lot of time with him lately.' Bella says and as she is speaking, I am looking at her right in the mouth like I am listening attentively.
That's because you haven't been having time for me, and Ken is the only one who could spare his time just to see me smile and happy. I feel like saying it to her, but I swallow my pride. As I am looking at my friend who is expecting me to talk, I feel like this is the moment we've all been waiting for. I spent more than five minutes with Bella without Matt showing up, but can it ever last?
'Happy 3 weeks anniversary babe.' Matt shows up hiding behind Bella with a bouquet in his hands.
'Urgh!' I say to myself as I turn my back on them and leave, and I head to class.
