Trust me the second book of this is the best. I have goals to get the OUABH trilogy. (Never happened lol)
It is kind of rough to read the first book until the main characters get to Caraval, which is a type of carnival based place (without rides) and it is fueled by magic.
When the game is won there is a prize people would die for.
But it is all just a game. And the game will test if you can tell reality from what isn't reality.
This book had me questioning like everything.
Then book two introduces something new. And a new character that is apart of the OUABH trilogy.
Read Caraval. If you hate the first book, the second one will make up for it.
Now. If you love confusing books where things get explained AFTER they happen. Not during it. I have two originals.
One is called Illusions and it's a dystopian series.
And the other is called Now I Know What's Real And What Is Fake. And it's based off of dreams basically.
It's a lot like the concept from Caraval where you and the characters are unaware of what's happening.
