"Shashwat!... You can't run away now!.. You need to face it!" Sneha screams, her voice choked with tears.
Shashwat's mind , a jumble of confusion and fear. He hurries into the nearest building, taking the stairs in a rush. The rooftop becomes his refuge, a momentary escape from the clamor below.
Breathless, he stands on the rooftop, the city sprawled out before him. The sounds of the bustling streets are distant, creating a quiet space where he can gather his thoughts. The wind tousles his hair, and he takes a moment to absorb the city lights twinkling below.
Next day in the school's classroom, as Shashwat's gained enough popularity because of widespread news coverage throughout the day, Kunal during the recess observes him in full rage and asks
"Don't worry, we will help you in eve-" Shashwat gets up from his seat, "I do not need anything from you.." He swiftly goes out.
Kunal follows him inside the washroom.
Swiftly he stops Shashwat and says "What is even wrong with you?, You know my father right..?"
Shashwat replies "You seriously have no guilt.." He pulls his hand out of Kunal's grip.
Later that day, on his way back home, he inquires Mr Shukla on the investigation.
"Uncle, have you located my father?.."
"I'm afraid we haven't been able to trace him nor your mother.. But there is something.." Shukla sighs.
"Something?.. What is it?" Shashwat curiously asks,
"Their last location as of this morning was near Outer Ring road.. in the interiors... after which we couldn't track them... someone might have thrown their phones." Shukla Continues, "We have dispatched a Search Squad in the region and diverted all the traffic to main ring road to give us some time space."
Shashwat replies "I also need to go with your team.. I might be able to help"
Shukla says "Don't be silly, we barely have 2 hour window with us to execute the search operation, plus your security cannot be compromised at this critical moment."
Shashwat with rage replies "SO WHAT IF IT DOES ANYWAY?!... At least i will end up with my family wherever they are.. I can HELP YOUR TEAM with whatever i have got"
He continues "plus we only have 2 hour window with us right?"
Shukla: "Ahh...You're stubborn like your father.. but anyway who am I to stop you.. its better my team goes with you as well or else you'll end up going on your own anyway.."
