Flash back

" I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do "
The couple sat in front of the doctor, a clipboard in his hands as he looked at the two.
The woman's head fell into her hands as she began to sob, her shoulders heaving as her world came crashing down.
They've just done tests and it came back that she won't be able to produce a child, the one dream she had been looking forward to after her marriage.
She felt a reassuring hand on her back, slowly tracing circles on it as her husband spoke with the doctor.
The only solution is to adopt in their case, however she knows it'll never be the same.

Current day

" when will you be back? "
One of the kids spoke up form the crowd of others, I pat there head before reaching for the door. " I'll be back soon, I'm only checking something out "
I planned on going to speak with the princess at her hotel, I didn't want to let Rosie down and it wouldn't hurt to trial the hotel for a day or two.
I haven't packed anything yet just incase I really didn't want to stay, I wave to the small group of kids who saw me putting on my shoes and started questioning me before waiting at the door with me.
Closing the door behind me I step down the small set of stairs before heading to the gate that surrounds the building, I take the letter from my pocket and read the address again trying to memorise it.

However after exiting cannibal town I could clearly see the hotel that sat on a hill, it looked tall so I thought lots of demons must be trying to get to heaven.

When I walked up the hill towards the hotel I couldn't help up think, think about if maybe he'll be there. I know it's unlikely he'll be here, it doesn't seem like his type of thing. But it eased my nerves, thinking about seeing him. I haven't seen him in ages ever since I heard about how the radio demon took over his status of overlord, I was almost glad that someone had stopped him before he took it any further.
I pat down my skirt and fix my hair trying to make my self look presentable, if I was going to be talking to the princess I'd like to make a good impression. I hesitate a little before knocking on the door, I stood back and admired the stained glass and red theme of the hotel.
I heard talking behind the door, very excited talking and shoes rushing towards the door. I stand up straight and smile ready for whoever will see me, I wouldn't expect the princess to answer. I'm sure she has people working for her and certain people to welcome demons to the hotel.

" hello! Welcome to the Hazbin hotel! "

I stand in shock a little as the actual princess answers, her bright smile and wide eyes show me how much she's excited for someone to be at her hotel. I smile back and take out the letter from my pocket.
" good evening princess, Rosie told me that you needed people for your hotel? "
I hand her the letter and stand patiently, slowly leaning to the side to look over her shoulder into the lobby. It looked rather empty however, maybe this is why Alastor was asking for more people.
" oh yes! Thank you for taking up the offer, come in let me show you around " she stands to the side to let me in, I look inside at the red patterns on the walls and gold accents.
" I'm not to sure about staying here however, I was just wondering if we can talk about it? "
I feel bad for letting her down almost, she seemed really happy to have a customer at her hotel. However I could tell she understood and nodded before waking down the hall to the lobby.

No one's POV

Husk stopped reading the newspaper that just came in, Charlie had opened the door and his ears flicked as he heard a voice.
He didn't recognise it at first until she stepped into the hotel and her voice became clear.
" oh shit "
He quickly dropped the newspaper and crouched down behind the bar, his heart beat fast as he realised who was in the hotel.
He hasn't seen her in almost a year and he didn't want to see her like this, he slowly crawled under the open part of the bar he uses to exit normally.
He looked down the hall to door to see her. She still looked the same, the same curls and white streaks in her hair. He almost stopped to admire her for a moment before realising she'll turn around and see him soon.
He gets onto his feet and speed walk down the hall, he rushes to the elevator and aggressively presses the buttons over and over.
" fucks sake, come on! "
He whispered yells at the elevator before it opens up, Angel stands in the elevator and looks at him confused. However before he can say anything husk rushes in the elevator and pushes the spider out.
" if anyone asks for me, I'm not here "
He points at Angel with a glare before the doors close slowly, leaving Angel to look at the closed doors confused.
" fucking alcoholic "

" If you do wish to stay here, we have room service done by our cleaner Niffty! I'm sure you'll see her around "
Charlie walks into the lobby and turns to face Y/N, a wide smile still on her face due to the chance of getting their first proper residence.
" There's a bar, that normally has a bartender "
Her face scrunched up slightly as he looked at the bar, clearly not keen on the idea of the whole ordeal. She was however also confused on where husk was, it was rare to see him anywhere else but the bar. Any bar that is.
" we have one other resident, his journey is a bit slow though "
She looked over at Angel dust who is laying on the couch of the lobby with his phone in his hands as he takes photos of him self, Charlie whispers the last part to avoid him hearing.
" Don't feel rushed to move in just yet! But the offer is always here and we will provide anything you need "
Charlie's smile was sweet as she spoke to Y/N, she really didn't want this opportunity to go to waste. Being so close to getting another demon to join her hotel she couldn't screw it up now. She watched Y/N carefully as the woman looks around the hotel, she was mesmerised by the colours and patterns of the place.
She had an expression on her face that showed she was thinking about it, however somthing seemed to pull her away from the idea.
" If I do stay, would it be okay if I find someone else to join? "
She looks up after figuring out a plan, she knew husk wouldn't say yes to the plan straight away. She doesn't even know where to find him right now, she didn't have to find him though.

Husk stood on the second floor, standing far away from the balcony that looked over the lobby to not be seen as he overheard the conversation.
He knew he couldn't hide here forever.

Flashback

" You're acting like a child! "

Husks grubby voice raised slightly as he looked at the woman in front of him, they stood at private bar that husk has acquired during his time as a overlord. He hasn't been doing it for long but he's been loving all of it, dealing in souls and winning every time.
Y/N had tried to stay by his side but she couldn't anymore, she picked up her bag and started to walk for the door.
" this is what I mean! Your not your self, I told you this whole overlord idea would be a bad one "
She raised her hands and gestured to the place around them before him, her eyes didn't show any anger but they looked lost. Husk pushed him self from the bar and walked over to her, " you cant just leave! I did this for us "
He lowly growled, his tail swishing in anger as he didn't understand what was wrong. To him his wife was overreacting about the situation, he even thought for a moment that she's jealous of his power.
" don't say that, you know this is for you and your gambling addiction or whatever it is "

She raised her hands to her head and rubbed her temples, her own animal like features flicked and moved slightly annoyed. She stood up straight and sighed before looking him dead in the eyes.
" I'm leaving husk, this place I cant stand it. The smell of alcohol and smoke is overwhelming and this new found ' power ' of yours is to much "
She pointed into his chest as she referred to him, her gaze sharpened slightly as she looked up at him.

" I mean it this time, come back when you change your mind. Or whenever this overlord shit clears from your mind "
