Run. That's all I seemed to be good for. I run from everything honestly. I run from my problems, I run from the people who love me. I even ran away from home.

But now, now was a time I needed to run, I needed to run to survive.

I found myself running with all the strength I had left, my legs growing weaker, the air nearly escaping my lungs.

I didn't know where I was heading, hell I didn't know where I'd go. I didn't know anything but one thing.

I needed to run.

I always hated late night walks honestly.

When you live in Florida the only thing running through your mind when you're walking out so late is, "Man I wonder if there's a gator in that lake, is it gonna jump out and eat me alive!"

It's always so nasty smelling too, mosquitoes everywhere. I hate mosquitoes.

I've never really done this type of this before, sneak out I mean, I've gone on late night walks before.

Y'know knowing her I thought this would be mission impossible, nope all I had to do was sneak out through the back so the ring camera doesn't snitch me out.

I walked a good block or two before I facetimed Evan, it's what, 1:00 by now? He's a horrible insomniac, his eye-bags tell me all I need to know, he's got to be awake.

I looked down at my phone, the screen brightness felt like it was blinding me. I scrolled through my contacts looking for Evan, fingers crossed this guy picks up.

"Madi?" he yawned.

"OH MY GOD EVAN HI—"

"Madi why the hell are you calling me at 1:13am on a school night, I wake up in like 4 hours man."

Looks like someone wasn't very happy to hear from me.

"Can't I just call my best friend in the whole wide world at a unreasonable time at night?"

"No," he responded rather irritated.

"Did I mention in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!" Madi exclaimed.

"I'm going to hang up."

"C'mon Evan we're supposed to be like this," I crossed my fingers and then I uncrossed them.

"But right now we're like this."

"Madi I am going to hang up on you."

Shit.

"NO WAIT-" I yelled at him through the phone, "Ok I get it, it's like your nap time or some shit WHATEVER but I need to know if I can go over to your place? Like right now."
