Plot: Desti wanted a simple vacation, a chance to have fun and explore the world while sorting out her issues. Unfortunately, her life seemed to be cursed to never be easy...
The gentle clacking of tracks beneath the train were a soothing melody in the hustle and bustle of the city.
Inside a train moving through the gentle beat of the city, people went about their days. Some stood and hung onto the support, some were sat down and relaxed, one nice gentleman even gave up his chair for a pregnant woman.
Among these patrons...was Desti. The purple haired girl was sat in silence, her head bopping to the beat of the music in her earbuds, an arm on her rug-sack of belongings.
She looked through her phone, seeing a series of messages all sent from Her friends back home, alongside a few pictures of Alice and Emily's birthday from a while back, making them a year old.
Desti smiled. It had been several weeks since she'd left the mushroom kingdom in search of a way to clear her head cleared up. Since then, she'd been around the world the simple way, taking locomotives and cars.
She could just take a plane, but not only was that expensive, it took the fun out of things.
So far, she'd been to a few cities all throughout the USA. New York, Texas, Pasadena, all the greats. So far, she was about to arrive at her next and final destination in the country: Detroit.
From what she heard, the city was a technological utopia of art and all sorts of fun places and since there was a good chance there'd be androids fighting in the streets in about just under 15 years time, she thought she might as well check the city out while she could.
Feeling the train beneath her beginning to slow down, she pulled her earbuds out. Looking out the window, she saw the terminal coming into view and quickly put her earbuds away, pausing the song she had on.
She grabbed her bag and stood as the train came to a halt, stepping out onto the platform as the speaker called out.
Conductor: Train now arriving in Detroit central, please disembark and bring all personnel belongings with you.
Desti stepped out, making her way through the standard ticketing process and security until finally, she saw the grand skyline of Detroit.
She saw hotels, skyscrapers and businesses centres as far and tall as the eye could see. The sky was a bright blue with rainbows reflecting off a nearby fountain. It was breathtaking, truly stunning.
As Desti stepped out into the city, she looked around and had to spin around just to take everything in. Words failed her as she made her way through the crowds and spotted some street performers.
Walking past as they played drums on some trash cans, she stopped for a second and helped one of them adjust his sticks before heading off. Just then, she got a phone call and picked up her phone, seeing Meggy's ID.
Desti: (Picks up) Hey Meggy, wassup?
Meggy: Desti, hey! Just wanted to check in, haven't heard from you in a while!
Desti: Oh, I'm doing great! Just arrived at Detroit and...just...wow! The place is huge and I just arrived! There's music, forests and...(Sniffs)...Oh, I can definitely smell Chinese fusion...
Meggy: Wow, sounds great! Be sure to take pictures for when you get back, maybe me and Tari can take a vacation there one day!
Desti: Heh, wouldn't that be the day. Anyway, chat later Megs. Tell Crystal I said hi.
