"You know, the most interesting thing about Clom is probably the Natives. They literally absorb people, and, oddly enough, those people become a living part of that creature! How cool is that?!"
"Oh, right, like your bow tie?"
"Bow ties are cool," he replied, while straightening the very tie around his neck.
"So, we gonna see this 'Clom', or what?"
"Wait a minute, let me finish," he whined, smacking her hand away from the door. "I haven't even gotten to the best part yet!"
She sighed. "Okay, go on." She secretly was enjoying this conversation, just didn't want to admit it.
"We're going to DISNEYLAND!!!" he exclaimed, as if he were a child.
Now this caught her attention. "Sorry?"
"I said, DISNEYLAND!!!" he shouted in her face again.
"They have Disneylands on other planets?"
"Of course they do, why wouldn't they? I mean humans can't be the only ones who get to have any fun."
"Doctor."
"Hey, did you know the woman who invented Monopoly, Elizabeth Magie, lovely woman..."
"Doctor!"
"-was actually from Barcelona? She travelled all the way across the stars in search of a new life and then BAM! Monopoly!"
"DOCTOR!!"
"Yes, Clara?"
"Can we just go already?"
"Right, yes, Disneyland, here we come!"
He flung open the door and they both poked their heads out. He stepped out, still rambling on about Elizabeth Magie, while she just took it all in, in awe.
"So, she was an Barcelonian who invented one of the most fun games in the history of Earth. See, 'aliens' get to have fun, too, you should be thanking her! Well, if she wasn't... Dead... But I could take you to her, just so you could say it in her face, 'thank you, Mrs. Alien Lady!'"
"Doctor?"
He turned around, startled. "Yes?"
"Where do we start?" she asked, a huge grin plastered on her face.
He smiled, too. "You're the boss!"
"Oh, really?"
"No, no. NO! Why do I keep saying that?" He said to himself, slapping his hand on his forehead in frustration.
Clara laughed lightly and bounded up to him, grasping him in a big hug.
"Thank you, Doctor, for bringing me here."
The Doctor was taken by surprise. "You're welcome, Clara."
"Now, I say we ride the Tower of Terror, what do you say?"
His eyes went wide. "Erm..."
Clara fake-gasped and smirked. "Are you scared, Doctor?"
"N-no!"
"You are!" she laughed. "Okay, how about we go on this one then." she suggested, pointing to a mini caterpillar-shaped roller coaster, made for kids under the age of 10.
His eyes lit up.
~~~~~
"WHEEEEEE!!!" the Doctor exclaimed as the coaster went over the smallest of bumps. Clara was standing to the side, with a straight face that said she was bored.
The car screeched to a stop and the Doctor got out, grinning from ear to ear. The children on the ride with him were laughing hysterically.
"Again?" he asked.
"Doctor, you've been on that ride 17 times already, don't you think we should move on?"
"But they love me!" He pointed to where the children were staring at them with puppy dog eyes.
"Sorry, kids, I'm taking my friend back," she told them, grabbing the Doctor's hand and pulling him to the Tower of Terror wait line.
"Clara?"
"Yes?"
"Why are we in this line?"
"Because we're going on this ride, Doctor, I don't care what you think," she said. "You're 1000 and some years old, you should start acting like it."
~~~~~
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" the Doctor exclaimed as the ride plunged downwards. He was the loudest screamer in the elevator.
Clara glanced at him, a bit annoyed.
~~~~~
After the ride was over, the Doctor rushed out, pushing everybody else aside. He made his way to a trash can and emptied his stomach. Clara calmly walked out of the ride, as if she wasn't with him on the unpleasant experience. She walked over to where the Doctor was now sitting on a bench, gritting his teeth.
"I don't get how you humans enjoy that kind of stuff. It's just wrong."
Clara suddenly laughed and wrapped her arms around him, squeezing him tightly. "We can go on your pick next," she said. The Doctor smiled and led her over to another one of her childhood favorites, Space Mountain.
~~~~~
The Doctor actually enjoyed Space Mountain. He barely even screamed.
As they were heading out, laughing and talking, and holding hands, they noticed a glimmer in the black of the sky.
"Doctor? That's a rainbow."
"So it is."
"How can there be a rainbow?"
"No idea."
"Ooh, the Doctor has no idea."
They walked closer to it.
"Doctor?"
"Yes, Clara?"
"This is impossible."
"I know, Clara."
"But, Doctor. It has an ending point."
At that, he turned toward her.
"What did you say?"
"See for yourself," she said, gesturing to the rainbow's bottom.
He looked and examined and scanned and mumbled and then, finally, shouted, "This is impossible!!!!"
"I know, Doctor, that's what I said."
"What'd ya mean? I said that."
Clara didn't even try.
The Doctor stepped closer until he was centimeters away from touching it. And he did touch it. And he was gone.
Clara raised an eyebrow. "Doctor?" She stepped closer. "Doctor, this isn't funny." She raised a hand. "What have you done?" And she touched it, too.
There was a strange feeling of being compressed and then expanded, and then it stopped. She saw the Doctor looking at her. No, he was looking past her, at something in the distance.
"Doctor? What just happened?"
"I'm not sure, but I think I have a pretty good idea."
"Okay, so what is it?"
He stepped closer to her and turned her head so she was looking at what he was looking at.
A yellow brick road.
"Clara?"
"Yeah?"
"I don't think we're on Clom anymore..."
