Rachel Berry graduated from high school this past year and is now starting college in her dream town and state; New York. Rachel has always wanted to move to New York ever since she went on a family vacation with her two dads. She fell in love with the city and always swore to move once she could. She's living in a tiny flat with her roommate and best friend Kurt Hummel and today was the big day of finally starting college classes.

"I am so nervous but excited! How do you feel?" Rachel asked as she finished up her breakfast and took her bowl to the sink.

"Me too! I sort of feel like I'm gonna throw up but it's no big deal you know why?" Kurt didn't wait for Rachel to respond and kept talking. "Oh you know it's probably because we're in the best performing arts school in our dream town of New York City!" Kurt replied with excitement while jumping around in circles brushing his teeth. He looked at their wall clock and opened his eyes wide, "Rachel we have 10 minutes till we have to leave so you better hurry up we don't wanna be late to our appointment!"

Rachel hurried inside the bathroom and brushed her teeth then they grabbed their things and headed for the door. Traffic wasn't exactly an issue for them because they took the subway instead of driving so it doesn't take too long to get to the university. As they walked up to the school they both looked over at each other with excitement in their eyes, all the nerves vanishing.

Rachel's POV

I panned the area seeing hundreds of freshman walking, skateboarding, and biking along the sidewalks. We continued on to the student union where we will be getting some extra information on our classes and the campus itself. Once we opened the doors to the large building we were taken aback by the noise and amount of people walking around, talking to advisors and other students. We continued down a corridor looking for the office to our advisor while carefully weaving in between people. After a few more turns and almost getting pushed over by someone hitting me with their backpack, we eventually found the office. There were a couple of chairs in the hall along the wall so we sat and waited.

"Wow this is pretty intense isn't it?" Kurt asked me sitting down, taking a large breath.

"Yeah actually it is, but I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else," I replied smiling while scooting closer to him and leaning on him.

Kurt gave me a big smiling while nodding in agreement. We sat in comfortable silence for several minutes, still hearing the chatter going on throughout the building. Soon enough a man opened the office door and Kurt and I jumped up at the noise. When I had jumped up I accidentally dropped my opened bag spilling the contents all over the floor.

"Sorry for startling you, I need Kurt Hummel." We looked up to see our student advisor, his name tag it says, Mr. Benny Luna. Kurt looked at me then to the floor silently asking if I needed help picking it up. "Go, Kurt, I've got this."

He walked inside and, what I assume is another freshman girl, walked out while the door closed behind her. She wearing headphones that are blaring so I loud I can hear the music playing in them and she's looking down at several papers in her hands. I quickly realized she'll slip on my things if I don't warn her so I open my mouth to say something but close it knowing she won't hear me. I step forward and reach my arm out to grab her but end up slipping on an unseen pen and fall into her. We bumped our heads and both fell to the floor along with her papers. Oops.

"I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to do that! I was trying to stop you from falling but you had your earphones on and I tried to reach out to you but ended up slipping on a pen and fell into you I'm so sorry," I quickly rambled, concerned if she was hurt. I scrambled to my feet making sure I didn't fall again. I stuck my hand out and pulled the girl up to her feet and to my surprise she was laughing.
