Enoch glared at the two people exiting the library as he stopped in his tracks, Sebastian and Elizabeth did the same as they all made shared awkward glances
"Enoch" Sebastian said in a serious and awkward tone as a form of greeting
"Sebastian" Enoch greeted back, he looked at Elizabeth and they made eye contact, they stared at each other for a few seconds before Elizabeth looked away clearly her throat a little
"we should probably make our way to the dining room" she suggested, feeling the awkward tension of the situation as she looked down at her hands, Sebastian took notice of this
"Yes we probably should" went ahead towards the dinning room, Enoch followed behind

After dinner the children went outside to watch the reset and then went inside to finish their day
Elizabeth laid on her bed, looking up at the celling, she has been trying to go back to sleep but all her attempts were futile
Now annoyed with her predicament, she left her bed, deciding to leave her room to get a glass of water, thinking that maybe that would help
The left her room and cautiously walked to the kitchen, afraid of accidentally waking anyone up, once she reached the kitchen she moved quickly but quietly to finally go back to her room
Elizabeth was pouring the water into a cup she heard a set of footsteps approaching the kitchen, she felt a small sensation of internal panic but she took a deep breath, remembering the reassuring words of Miss Raven had to repeat to her more than once, the steps got louder as they got closer and it was very clear that whoever was awake was coming towards the kitchen
As the door to the kitchen opened she turned around to see who was the mysterious individual, but she was surprised to see Enoch, who was wearing a loose white buttoned shirt and dark brown trousers, he seemed as surprised to see her as she was to see him
"What are you doing?" He asked in an accusatory manner that made Elizabeth more nervous than she was
"I could not sleep, so I came here to fetch a cup of water" she replied honestly "would you like a cup as well?" She offered, she still did not understand why Enoch was still so hostile towards her, although she was told that he often unpleasant towards other house mates, but she felt like he had a peculiar dislike towards her
Enoch furrowed his eyebrows at her offer, he looked at her up and down, Elizabeth was wearing a white nightgown, that covered most of her body except her face, neck and the part where her collarbone is, the light of the candle he was carrying did not reach her so the only light source that illuminated her was the moonlight, she looked at him with slight anticipation as she waited for him to answer
"No" he answered bluntly, walking pass her to the cupboard that was next to her, he heard Elizabeth mutter quietly "alright" before she turned to face the other way to drink her cup of water
Enoch did not waste any time, he opened the cupboard and began to retrieve a few jars, taking them in his arms as he stacked one on top of the other
he was about to leave but as he walked away two of the jars accidentally slipped from his grasp, Enoch frozen in a small panic, but the expected sound of glass shattering never arrived, he looked down to where the shattered jars should have been but instead he saw Elizabeth who had caught both jars, she was leaning down with one jar in each hand
Enoch was extremely caught of guard, he failed to see how she managed to move so quickly, Elizabeth quickly straightened herself back up with the jars still in her hands, her and Enoch made eye contact for a brief moment, not aware of the close proximity between them, Elizabeth was the first to say something
"Umm... maybe i could assist you with carrying these two for you?" She asked cautiously, Enoch did not say anything but just stare at her a little dumbfounded, Elizabeth was a little concerned at this, but eventually Enoch replied
"If you want to" he shrugged before he began walking away, Elizabeth stood still for a moment before she followed Enoch, their steps were quiet as they went down to the basement
Elizabeth could not help but feel a little uneasy as she followed Enoch down to the basement, which she now assumed was his room
They reached the bottom and were met with a wooden door, Enoch opened it and went inside without saying a word Elizabeth followed after him reluctantly, mentally preparing for what she might find in there
She walked in to the dimly lit room and looked around, the first thing she noticed was the unfamiliar antiseptic smell, it was bitter, with a slight fragrance similar to the soaps and cleaners she's used to clean around the house
She then noticed that in the middle of the room was a wooden table, with different metal instruments laid out with no specific order, there was also desk lamp illuminating the middle of the table, there was a large shelf set behind the table, where there were jars of all sizes, similar to the ones she and Enoch were holding
"Umm... where would you like me to set these?" She asked him
"You can just leave them on the table" he answered and Elizabeth did as he said, carefully leaving the two jars on the table, then stood awkwardly, not sure on what to do next, Enoch did not say a word to her so they just stood in awkward silence
"I should... I should make my way back to my room" she spoke nervously as she awkwardly started making her way out of the room "have a good night" she muttered
"Wait" Enoch finally spoke with a stern voice before Elizabeth was able to reach the door
Enoch still did not fully believed Elizabeth's intentions, he wanted to see if he was actually who she says she is, and now that they were alone he could find out the truth without miss Raven or the other housemates interrupting
Elizabeth turned around a little surprise and confused at Enoch's little outburst, Enoch... confused Elizabeth to say the least, she knows that he is not exactly fond of her as much as her other housemates and she never held that against him, but there were times that she would catch him looking at her during dinner and although they do not speak often he always seemed somewhat interested in her
so sometimes, if not all of the time, she found it difficult to read Enoch
"Do you... do you need help with anything else?" She asked nervously
Enoch looks up at Elizabeth and... he blanked out, he wanted to find out if she meant well but as soon as he laid eyes on her, his mind went blank, he kept a straight face as he continued to stare at her
Elizabeth furrowed her eyebrows even more confused, at the sight of this she asked again "is everything alright Enoch?"
Enoch shook his head as he seemed to emerge back from a trance
"Forget it... go away now" he said brushing it off then sitting down at his desk, looking down at the artifacts on the table
"Alright... good night" she said before leaving leaving the room with slight haste, gently closing the door behind her
As soon as he was sure that she was gone he let out a breath that he was holding, he felt puzzled, he could not understand the reason of his lost for words earlier on, it was like as soon as he had laid eyes on Elizabeth, he just could not bring himself to muster a single word, almost like he could not speak his own name
Nothing like that has ever happened to him before and he was not very happy about it
A/N: finally posted! Yay :)
