CHAPTER ONE
pros and cons

"I have an idea!" Kate exclaims, "We make a Pros & Cons list. For each of them."

"I'm sorry, I'm still shocked by the fact that your two biggest past-crushes confessed that they like you?" Brooke widens her eyes, "I mean, you were practically in love with Finn for three and a half years and Elliot for four. That's insane."

Gwen shrugs, "I don't know, I mean, they're both... really cute."

"Elliot said he was in love with you?" Kate widens her eyes.

"Finn just said he liked her." Brooke says.

"I think the Pros & Cons list is a good idea," Ansley speaks up, "That will make it a lot easier."

"Okay," Gwen breathes out, pulling out a whiteboard, writing out two names and the words 'pros' and 'cons' underneath each, "Let's think."

FINN CASSIDY

1. he's a really good listener
2. he rides a bike everywhere, which is better for the environment
3. he's super smart-- like As in every subject for the past eight years
4. honestly really funny
cons
1. he's insanely uptight
2. he's a perfectionist
3. been feuding with me for years
4. he is way too tidy and shit

ELLIOT LEWIS
pros
1. really good music taste
2. a great artist
3. loyal as hell
4. good at reading, which is good for me, because i'm good at math and bad at reading
cons
1. hates wearing shoes
2. doesn't understand social cues
3. almost too honest? like in a rude way on accident sometimes
4. doesn't like to talk about himself... like ever (this can be good but it's impossible to get to know him, unless you're me who has known him for several years)

"So, the answer's obvious." Brooke says, "Right? Obvious."

Kate nods, "We should say it at the same time."

"Elliot."

"Finn."

"Go out with both of them."

Ansley furrows her eyebrows, "Finn? How could you seriously think Finn? Finn has awful music taste and he's an uptight prick! Elliot is-- and these are Gwen's words, not mine-- loyal as hell!"

Kate rolls her eyes, "Finn is cuter."

"Enough, you two," Brooke sighs, "It's like you two have never dated anyone."

Ansley shrugs, "I mean, that's accurate. I have no game."

"Yeah, I mean, I do, but the guys at our school are icky," Kate says, "So, I don't really..."

"You have to go out with both of them," Brooke declares, "That way you can find out more about both of them and we can expand the Pros & Cons, until someone knocks it out of the park with the pros."

"That's a really good idea."

"Yeah, why didn't we think of that?"

Gwen pulls out her phone, shooting both boys a text.
