When you wake up all you can see is a bright light above you. You try and move your arms but they're strapped up behind you, as well as your legs tight to the bottom of a chair. Did he tell them? Why would he do that? How could he? You tear up but are instantly interrupted by a tall man in a doctors uniform. And a small petite woman, also in a doctors uniform.

"Welcome subject number 9295" the man says.

"Who-" you get cut off by the women

"We'll be starting your treatment here soon. By the time we're done you'll be the model hero. Homelanders equal."

"WHERE IS HE?! WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!" you start screaming at them, bashing around in your chair. You feel a small sting in your neck, and the world goes black again.

You're strapped inside of a metal container, only your arms, legs, and back stick out. You're mouth is covered by a metal piece, preventing you from talking. You're eyes are blind folded, you cant see what's happening around you, but you can hear footsteps. There's a sudden pain in your back.

"Their placing a chip in your back so we can track you. Your treatment will take up to a year." Footsteps leave the room. And suddenly the world goes quiet.

You panic, this isn't where you wanted to be. You know they covered your mouth because if you had the chance you know you'd scream for Homelander, and you don't care if he did this. All you know is he's the only one who would hear you. You're suspicious and frankly quite irritated. You hate everyone right now and you have every right. The minute you finally think you can attach yourself to someone, he's gone. And you hate him all over again. Again and again, it never fucking ends. You close your eyes and accept defeat. This is it. The end of the road.

As days go by, you lose track of time, memories, even the base of who you are. You don't know how long it's been, weeks, months, years maybe. They've trained you up to be a killer, emotionless, untrustworthy by anyone but your allies. You don't remember how you got here, all you remember is the week before all of this happened. Becca crying and running off and Homelander screaming for them not to hurt you. They've convinced you, or maybe you convinced yourself, but it's his fault this happened. And you don't care to believe otherwise. Your powers have enhanced, you don't know if panic even exists anymore, you have no weakness. You've grown to tune out the doctors that come in and out, they always say the same things over and over again. You're eyes have gathered bags and your skin is pale. You look almost like a vampire but not in a hot rouge way. You're angry and you don't care about anything but revenge. You can sometimes hear them whispering when you do choose to eavesdrop, they talk about Homelander a lot. From what you've gathered their afraid of him, of what he can do to them. Sometimes you put a fantasy in your head that their scared of him because of what they did to you, and what he might do to punish them. It's a stupid little fantasy but it's all you had to feel your heartbeat every now and again.

"She's ready"

They give you a suit, it's a black jumpsuit with red lining, black combat belt and boots, and a metal mask with a maroon skeleton print. You're gloves have metal claws at the end, you're back has a spine metal piece starting from a choker around your neck clipping to the back of your belt, and your mask covers your eyes to hide the indicator of your ability's.

"You're officially known as Crimson, the ghost hero."

You can't remember your real name, or really where you came from. You don't mind the shit they gave you, you're just happy with leaving this creepy ass room.

"You're not to tell anyone your true identity, including your team. You will come back here every Sunday at 10 pm. You will have guards guarding your door every hour of the day." They start reading off rules. You're meant to be a mystery to everyone besides Stillwell and them. Fine. You don't really care.

After signing an agreement form they escort you to an elevator. Three guards in front of you, three behind you, and one bitchy lady in the very front.  When we get to the elevator, the only people left are the lady and 2 guards. Everything is quiet, you wait for the elevator to take you up. You realize you've been in the Vought tower this entire fucking time. Everything looks different. When you step out of the elevator you see a hallway leading to a door with a giant picture of Homelander on side of it. You grind your teeth and although your face is covered, your eyes turn that lovely black. You walk on the room with your hands professionally against your back.

"Leave her here" Stillwell waves her hand and they all turn to leave. You're left there standing alone with her.

"What's your name." She doesn't ask but demands.

"Crimson."

"Real name."

"Crimson." You say in the same tone as you didn't previously. Too the point, emotionless.

"Very good." She smiles. "You'll be filling in a role as a member of the Seven in a few months. For now you're to attend every meeting, consider it.. hm. I don't know. Backup?"

"Yes ma'am" you roll your eyes under the mask. Really? You don't want any of this.

She looks down at her laptop.

"I'll have to dismiss you for now, make your way to the meeting room, it starts in 30 minutes." She sighs and motions you towards the door.

When you walk out, you freeze. You see Homelander standing there staring at his picture on the wall. He looks over at you confused.

"Who are you?" He takes a step closer to you. You don't move. "Last I checked Lamplight has already been replaced by Starlight." He keeps moving closer.

"Crimson. Consider me.. backup." You explain, reaching out your hand to shake his.

He stops to consider it for a minute but grabs your hand and shakes it.

"Good to have you on the team" he gives you a fake smile. You've hated that fucking smile for a long time.

"I'll see you at the meeting" you let go of his hand and walk past him. You can feel his eyes staring at you, it's uncomfortable burning in the back of your head, you wish he'd just laser you right then and there. You wish he'd just used you as collateral damage back up on that ledge. You continue walking formally.

Once you reach the meeting room you see familiar faces. Deep, A-train, you can't see him but you know he's there, Translucent, Black-noir. There's an empty chair and then Homelanders spot. You were trained to know your place in a room at all times, you military walk behind Homelanders chair and post guard.

"Okay, who the fuck are you?" A-train looks over at you.

"Hey now let's be civil, fellas this is our new backup teammate, Crimson" Homelander walks into the room.

"She looks freaky"

"I read your file, you have very familiar powers." He eyeballs you but you know better then to react.

"If you guys are done, starlight has been waiting in the door for the last 5 minutes" you say nodding at the door.

The meeting goes on, you find out that A-train killed Hughie Campbell's girlfriend, Starlight has an issue with deep, Black noir is as quiet as ever, Translucent was naked, and Homelander was still your main target for revenge. After everyone leaves the room, you stay put. You're not allowed to leave until told otherwise and you hate that you already know who you respond too.

"It's been 8 years since the last time I've heard of powers like yours." He looks at you from over his shoulder.

Shit.
